Hello,
I ran across this YouTube video that introduced this new "free" site where you can locate Yamaha styles for specific songs. On the site you can do a lot more, including previewing styles on your keyboard. The You tube video is located at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7yDEOR4KzY. The actual site is located at: https://styleplayer.io/song-styles.
I am wondering if others have used this site and what you think about it.
Thanks,

Mark

Mark, thanks for the heads up and link to this site.

There's a lot to digest but it would seem that this is a major game-changer for Yamaha arranger owners. So much effort to date has been expended in trying to link songs and artists with suitable styles and having to wade through countless copies of duplicated styles that have had minor personal adjustments. Just the ability to locate styles to fit songs, and songs to fit styles make this site invaluable.

I'm unable to explore all of the site's features until my USB/Midi cables arrive in a few days, but the ability to sit at the keyboard, with one of my 8000+ scores in MobileSheets on display on my laptop/tablet, being connected to StylePlayer.io and import/preview styles will be of great benefit.

Hi Mark

To be honest I tried a few so called "song styles" and they were not that good compared to my own collection .. very basic and often boring variations and often just one intro and ending ..they are plenty better out there!

I agree that the content is not yet up to the quantity and quality of what is out there currently. But his interface blows away anything that I have seen. As long as he gets support by people uploading their styles this site will be incredibly valuable. I hope other repository owners don't fear competition and instead upload their catalogs to let his site manage them. What he has accomplished technically so far is very impressive, his vision for the future, revolutionary.

I too discovered this site and have found it really useful for finding styles that fit a song.

I've used it with success.  Very easy to navigate for a specific song style.

Porterma,

Interesting site, an amazing amount of work has gone into it so full credit to the webmaster. The range of search options: songs/styles/artist/keyboard model is well presented and works well. I did try a few styles, sending them direct to me G2 via USB and this worked perfectly well. The styles were understandably of mixed quality, many being simply renamed of factory styles. However, there were a few 'custom' styles that I found novel. For me, one of the best features was looking at the various song files and seeing what styles others had chosen to use. This was also food for thought regarding other compatible song/style combinations that I hadn't previously considered.

In all, a site worth investigating for it's range of options.
