How to save modified voices on [Right1,2,3] for a particular style on the SX720

Hi,
I am a newbie with the SX720 and beginner keyboard player altogether.
I am trying to save the Right1 voice that I have changed for a particular style into a "User1" new Style name, but when I recall this user style, the original voice of the style shows instead of my customized version.

For example:
I use the style "90s8BeatBallad" that has piano "ConcertGrand" assigned to [Right1] on variation 1
1 - I edit the EQ of that voice to always have full volume (127) and save it as "ConcertGrand_bcb"
2 - I now assign "ConcertGrand_bcb" to [Right1] and save [Registration Memory 1] by pressing [Memory] and [Registration Memory 1]. It flashes to confirm and when pressing [Registration Memory 1] it correctly assigns "ConcertGrand_bcb" to Right1.

However, if I change [variation 1] to [variation 2] and back to [variation 1] it reverts back to the original voice "ConcertGrand" ... How or what do I need to do, to save and retain my customized setting of the voices for a particular Style ??... (Pressing the [One Touch Setting] also reverts to the original voice of that style).

Thank you for your time and help with this !...

Hello BorisCD,

You may want to try activating the FREEZE button. That should stop the voice reverting to the original.

There are other things that may have to be changed , but try this first.

Rather than create a new voice, just have the registration set the volume.

Press the Voice button, set the volume, then memorize the registration. Anything you can set in a custom voice you can set in the registration. But saving it in the registration savers you a ton of work as you don't have to create the voice.

It sounds like you do not have a Check Mark on the VOICE checked, telling the Registration to SAVE it.

Hi Boris
I maybe wrong but I think you have fallen in the trap many of us continue to do.  I think you need to decide what you want to use, STYLES or REGISTRATION. If you start switching from one to the other you will always have problems.  You have saved the voice change to registration button 1 which is fine, but by selecting variation 2 you are effectively saying you want to ignore your registration setup and use styles instead.  You have two options,  stick with registrations or make some changes to the OTS of the style then save those changes to a renamed style file. Alternatively save the change to variation 2 within the registration.
It may sound complicated but is really easy once to understand that Styles and Registrations should be kept separate.

You shouldn't be using OTS and registrations simultaneously; if you do so, OTS could overwrite your registration. Changing variation shouldn't change the sound *at all* if using registrations.

Either program the voice changes into OTS and just use OTS, or use registrations.
