MIDI Volume issue on Genos

I'm sending this in case any of you had seen something like this happen before when sending MIDI commands to a Genos.

For the first time, I'm setting up some MIDI buttons on my iPad app (unrealBook) to do some Volume changes (CC 07) that I need to do quickly and precisely in the middle of a certain song... that is, I tap a button on my chart (PDF file) to send a specific MIDI command to my keyboard.  This work fine to send the command to the keyboard ... the MIDI volume shown on the Genos changes appropriately on the channel I want (LEFT in my case).

... but my Genos keyboard seems to respond in a way I don't think it should:

Example: If I have MIDI Channel 4's Volume set at 100 (hex 64) on the Genos, and I send (hex) B3 07 64 (which should be 'set volume on Ch4 to 100'), the data goes through OK (LEFT stays at 100 on the keyboard) - but LEFT's volume suddenly goes up (audibly) on the keyboard, even though the value shown on the keyboard stays (as it should) at 100!

Has anyone ever encountered anything like this?  I don't think it's an iPad or app issue but a keyboard issue, but I'm asking in case you'd ever run into something similar?

Thanks!

I sent this question/topic to Yamaha as well (via their Support), I'll post here if they give me a useful answer.  -Jim

If someone out there has a simple setup for sending MIDI commands to your Genos, could you try setting (For example) LEFT volume to 100 (on the Genos).  Play a few notes or chords.  Then, send a MIDI command to set CC 07 to value 100.  Play some more notes/chords.  See if your Genos LEFT is now a little (noticeably) louder, even if the value is still on 100?
