Hello All,

Just traded my SX-900 for a Genos 2 - WOW what a difference - I wasnt expecting it to be that good.
I now need to bury my head in the manuals to try and understand the complexities of the G2

Sad to say, I am not a competent player, but hopefully the combination of the technology and my right hand will let me produce some pleasing sounds

Welcome to the PSR Tutorial Forum, Peter, and congratulations on purchasing the Genos2!

Just like with all other Yamaha arranger keyboards, you can start playing by choosing a style and using its OTS (One Touch Settings). I recommend saving OTS voice combinations that you like as Registrations.

You can then gradually familiarize yourself with the other functions of the Genos2. Much will be familiar from the SX900, but there are also some additional and/or improved features on the Genos2. I hope you enjoy your new toy!

All the best from Germany,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Congratulations.  I migrated up from a Tyros5 to Genos2 and the difference is huge.  I strongly suggest that you download the PlaylistForGenos2 from Yamaha (available after you register your instrument). These contain 1600 registrations (with 6-7 buttons per registration), with two for each built-in style.  They use very nice voice combinations, but the great advantage of using these registraions is that you can then modify them as you go along, changing voices, revoicing/muting channels from styles and adding multipads.  [A registration can even start a multipad automatically.]  This is much more flexible than using the OTS and modifying them.  You might first want to just try out "all" the registrations as they are, but after a short while you will get your own ideas and will be happy to use these registrations as a starting point.
