Thanks so much Chris

Yep you are correct!  The file does play so the first downloaded one was probably corrupt.  The selection of song styles on the MS-CD Software are a lot less flexible than the big selection that Charley uploaded as the FFFF collection ..That file above has just a single intro and single ending and no OTS settings so I will stick to the FFFF collection versions.

The FFFF collection is really quite good as it often has 3 intros and 3 endings ..the really great thing is that often intro 2 is a short 8 bar rift which fits in perfectly after each song verse .. typical would be Creedence Clearwater songs like Proud Mary where you play the verse and then touch intro 2 and it plays the rift for you ..very cool!!

Your efforts are really appreciated of course!!!!

Hello to all,

Nice comments about the styles I made mainly on the T1, one thing you need is the Chord charts to made them sound the best. I give these style to a friend? with the request no to share them but now I know he did'nt hold his word.

I still go on makeing style and they become better with te release of Style Magig Yamaha wich is a very good and helpfull piece of software.

Best regards <> Piet

Thank you Piet for continuing to allow us to use your great styles. It was pretty bad of your friend to release them, however, it is done and quite a few people can now acknowledge your skill.

I note your comment regarding Chord chart. Would this help to identify those styles which have different sounds dependant on chord played? I found a couple which surprised me 😄 ( I'm very much a newbie, and was not aware of this effect).

One (and I've only tried a handful) of your styles is a 'fave' song, and with a little re-voice (Genos2) is much better than a paid-for style I have been using.

Many thanks and best regards
Stevem

Hello!!

I as hoping Piet might eventually reply again to shine more light about the mentioned chord chart. I have noticed that on several of his styles, playing a 7th chord variation sometimes triggers a different sounding variation. It's hard to describe but you will know it when you hear it. There must be other variation changes that might be in that chord chart. If Piet doesn't respond again it's up to us using these styles to figure out what that "chord chart" means and how to use it.  Has anyone else triggered anything they could mention??  Beat wishes.  -charley

Aha! that's exactly what i found. Also think it occurred around A (isn't that the key that styles are 'recorded' in by default ?).

Thank you Charley, and BEAT wishes to you too  ;D

Greetings and Salutations!!

Would you believe I have "auditioned" all 2400 (2350 actually)  of those FFFF styles. Many of them I have declared "gems" and look forward to editing them for Genos2. Just changing drums to Ambient and REVO kits makes a huge difference. I am extremely pleased with my results so far. I've swapped  many of the OTS selections with better and newer voices. It will be fun and  interesting to get into the accompaniment voices and see what develops!!  Of course, I look forward into sharing any of my successes.  Oh Happy Days!!!  -charley

Awesome Charley

I think I have been thru the sets a dozen or more times selecting songs that I know and yes some are absolute gems too! There are also the "dutch" named ones I still need to get into and then the ones I have never heard of which means looking them up on YouTube to see if I recognise them! What I have done with my gems is renamed them and chopped off the front number so my set are rearranged alphabetically so they are quicker to find ..Far easily and quicker to find on the keyboard. I do also need to add the odd ones that have less than 4 OTS voices and change a few voices that are already there. Are you using the style creator to edit or using Jorgen's OTS software to edit??

Hello,

Right now I'm doing everything on the Genos2, sometimes using the style creator. I have Jorgen's software but haven't used it for this project. I don't like bouncing back and forth with my computer and Genos2. I prefer using each as a stand-alone. -charley

ChrisH

Thanks Charley

My style creator doesn't include an OTS section so I have to use The OTS editor from Jorgen .. His software has 4 channels for each OTS but my old S650 only has Main Voice Second Voice and Left Voice so I have to leave Right 3 unchecked ... I can change the OTS via the keyboard of course BUT it saves the settings into the Style sitting in User Files (most are from the FFFF collection) so if I delete the style so I can add a different one ..I automatically lose the saved OTS settings if I load it again from the USB

Still loving the FFFF styles! but some don't have anything in all the OTS just maybe OTS1 and OTS4

Hi ChrisH,

The function to change OTS (One Touch Settings) is not included in the Style Creator on any model. You simply make the desired panel settings for the keyboard parts as usual in the Voice Selection display and Mixer display, memorize these settings on the desired OTS button(s) and re-save the style file (in the Style Selection display).

By the way, you don't have to transfer external styles into the S650's user memory first, but you can load and play the styles (so-called "USB styles") directly from the USB stick. After changing the OTS, you can save the relevant style directly to the USB stick.

For detailed information on this, please see page 33 in the S650 Owner's Manual and pages 20/21 in the S650 Reference Manual.

Best regards,
Chris

● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
