The 4 voice packs were made available on the Romanian Forum www.orgaforum.ro by Iulik.

The packs are PPF format. They may still be available.

Graham UK says "Today I tested the STYs and they are excellent...
They appear to be professionally very well balanced with no silly volumes."......................................

I am a self proclaimed aficionado of style appreciation. What really pleases me is finding styles like these MS-CD ones. They really do sound exceptionally well as-is.  There have only been a few with screwed up volumes. This is even more stunning when you realize these styles were created around 2006. What I hear that really dates these styles is the quantization. Many of the background instruments are to perfectly timed like a machine gun. There is no "humanization" . When I finish auditioning all these styles, (I'm half way there!) I think I can keep the original instruments, if I choose, and re-quantize each track to make things sound more realistic. Of course I want to substitute some of Genos2's better voices, especially the right hand OTS.

I mentioned in another post how I really like some of the voices chosen for the accompaniment. A lot of voices come from the legacy folder, and many of those voices are excellent. And a lot of them ....... I have forgotten how good they could be. A lot of the mega-voices are different to the ones I am more familiar with. Speaking of mega-voices I am still surprised how valid they are on Genos2. Some of the styles use mega-voices in more tracks than regular instruments. Somehow I have been led to believe that mega-voices are really old technology. I think I am wrong thinking this. I've never constructed a mega-voice myself but I have seen Yamaha software to accomplish this. Another train I have missed along the way!  Best wishes.  -charley

I am truly amazed at the quality of most of the styles. I have tried many styles on my PSR SX900 from various sources but these are truly phenomenal.

Hello Duurduur,

I'm glad to hear how much you like those styles. As soon as I started auditioning them and listened to a few I knew these styles were "different" and I mean in a good way!  Why is that?  How are these constructed differently? Is it the choice in voices?  I'm also curious on the source styles that were used, or are they made from scratch?  Many of them only have 1 or 2 intros which usually indicates it a user or 3rd party style. Many of them have fairly elaborate intros. More so than other styles. The gentleman who ran MS-CD was German which is why I probably wouldn't know what songs were in mind when he made the styles.

Several members and myself are researching MS-CD and it's history. I heard the site closed and the content was all sold. If the gentleman who created them is still alive I would love to meet him and hear all about his musical endeavors. Maybe whoever bought the content will hear our plea and tell their story. It's hard to believe I have had this style disk since 2006 and only now am re-exploring it. Maybe someone else has forgotten them too and they could all be found and made available again. Best wishes.  -charley

Dear Charley,

first of all, thank you for sharing this interesting Styles set.

A few positive comments:

-the Style structure is generally rich but also quite basic/simple, which allows to use them in a plurality of songs;

-they are so well made, that require very minor tweaking to play perfectly (in my case: Genos). Just replacing the Drum track with Revo Drums brings their sounding to a very updated/modern feeling.

-I'm very impressed by the OTS: a big creativity, far better than preset OTS that we find on Genos and Genos 2 Styles. Deep knowledge of the potential of Voices, together with a deep study on unusual combination of Voices. IMHO this is the main factor that enhances the beauty of this Styles collection.

Thank you again  :D

Hello!!

Yes Angelo.  So many of those styles do have a special quality.  You can hear the quality in the mix. I'm so glad I posted them. In the beginning I wasn't sure they were worthy.  It's best to let others decide if they wish to download them. -charley

Greetings!!

Tonight I found what I am calling "my 2 favorite styles" in that collection. I posted a link to both of them and 2 WAV demo's for your pleasure.  -charley

Dear Charley,

after you kindly made available the MS-CD collection, I started to select/adjust/convert many Styles to Genos 1, with interesting results.

So far i worked on about 50 Styles, and I'going on to convert more Styles.

As I mentioned in a previous post, these Styles are simple but very useful, and with Genos sounds and various adjustment I got big improvements.

The Styles I selected are basically in the folders named "Internet". As soon as I will complete the selection and conversion (it takes more time), I'll post a link to let everybody to enjoy (hopefully...) them.

Thank you again!

Ciao  :)

Awesome Charley!

I have an old S650 arranger and they play well on it but a few OTS voices had to be changed. What is amazing is that my keyboard has Music Finder and this virtually replaces it as each style is "song specific" on the 2400 set download ..Sadly the older keyboards only have a tiny memory so I can only load around 27 STY files at a time but still really fantastic!!  Thanks again
