Hi all,
As I originally had KORG PA2X keyboard and I need to take some voices from that keyboard and import it to my new YAMAHA A-5000. Just need to know which voice format (  file name.???  ) can be imported to Yamaha 5000 ? is that SF2, WAV or PCM ?
Thanks for your kind advise.

Actually you can't import new sounds (samples) directly to your A-5000
You have to import the samples first to YEM (Yamaha Expansion Manager) do basic editing if necessary and export the new sounds as an "Expansion Pack"  and then you can load them to your A-5000.
YEM can handle soundfonts (SF2) and WAV, AIF samples.

So if you want to import "instruments" (many samples layered to the keyboard) the best format is soundfonts (SF2). If you want to build a new "instrument" from scratch then wav or aif samples can also used.

hello fado,
As danand mentioned (above), you can only create voice by using YEM, where you import required samples (which build a voice). Once voice is created, you can make a install pack containing that voice and install it into keyboard.

In YEM, you can only import samples which are PCM encoded (=WAV and AIFF). SF2 is not a sample format: it's a pack of (PCM encoded) samples, which you can also import into YEM.
