Hi, just a simple question; Is it posible to import single samples into the genos? If so in what format do they have to be? This i ask because i have troubles to load in converted samples to load them in as a pack. Could make it easyer to find the problem.

Yes if you have PPF or UVN files you can create a pack on the YEM to use in your keyboard.

Thanks Eileen. How do you load them in? Via voice or pack? Das it overwrite the existion expantion packs?

Place the voices you want to load onto a USB stick Then Open the YEM programme.
Select create new pack Click the + sign and select import content now go to your USB stick and select the voices you want to load in and press Open and they will load into the pack you are making.

Tanks Eileen, I followed your instructions and saved it to stick. They dont show up on the stick when i try to load it in as voice. Maybe it is because there are more than one voice in that file. However i managed to load them in as a quickpack install, i mean 10 translated organ voices, but then i lose the rest of my expancion voices. One thing i am sure now. nothing wrong with the translated voices. Maybe the volume or size is to big for yamy to handle. I wil put then in smaler packs now and see what hapends. I keep you informed. Thanks for all your help and that is not only for Eileen.

When you go to the YEM to install the packs make sure you have enough space to do it. Look at the voice WAV size. If this is going into the Red then you will have to reduce some of your packs. When you made your install file did you have all the packs you wanted ticked.

Thanks Eileen,

Yes, you run quick out of mem lol. I just wanted to test if the converted voices where not the problem. The problem is the mem like always. So for now i selected the most wanted packs and sounds.
I wil have to make custom packs and delete the voices i dont want.
Is there an easy way to do it without conecting your genos to your pc? Mines are 10 meter away from each other. Gues i wil have to prove them on the keyboard and mark those to keep.

The easiest way to do this is in the YEM. Just take the ticks out of the voices you do not want to load in the packs. This will reduce the size.

That is a good idea. I also have to look into the sample lenght of the imported sounds. I have the software for it but did 8 years nothing with it so it is a learning curve again. The silly thing is that in the past it was converting for creamware sts format. Now it is the other way around. The difficult part is that converting to sts had no memory isues as they where not compressed and played right from disk or mem.

Just keep in mind that each second of sound increases the sample by ~172kb -that might not look like a lot, but it sums up very quickly.
That's why I optimize the length of each wav sample separately. The next important thing is to use only minimal amount of samples. In most cases 3-4 samples per octave is enough -but that also depends on what kind of instrument we are dealing with.
