New Genos 2 owner here.  I have midi files with chords that I load as a song.  If I play the song then press the style control start/stop button, then eventually the style will play, but I can't figure out how to start the style to play the chords when I start a song, so I can play along.  If I start the style first, then it stops when I play the song.  The style sync start doesn't start when I start the song.  What's the secret?

I think this happens because you can't have two different midi clocks running. So there may be no solution. Something similar happens when you record a midi if you play a free time intro with no style running, (quite a common thing in musical arrangements) then try to start a style right on the beat. It always delays to synchronize the clock, unless you just get lucky. I've never found a solution to this. You can do it with audio record because there is no midi clock but not midi record.

At SONG setting, turn off Style Synchro Stop and try.

Is there any way to trigger the style to start from a midi file?  It seems I can only start it by pressing a key on the keyboard.

In the midi settings, system, I found this: Start/Stop Determines whether incoming FA (start) and FC (stop) messages affect Song or Style playback.

I'm not sure what this is referring to.  Incoming midi messages?

You load the style and the midi file
In the Song screen set the midi to start synchroon with the style : it is the down arrow with the two lines above.
Now you will see the play button of the midi blinking, meaning it is ready to start on doing a START/STOP in the style buttons or by playing the first chord.
Playing a chord will stop the style from following the chords in the midi file.
If you want the style follow the chorde in the midi file, you need to start with STOP/START.
As long as you don't play a chord the style will follow the chords of midi file.
