Does anyone know if there is a timpani roll in one of the multipads? I've found some cymbal rolls but looking for a timpani for the ending of my arrangement. As I'm writing this, I'm thinking, if there isn't one, could I take the cymbal roll and change the sound selection in the multipad creator?

I was also looking for a timpani roll some time back as a form of fill-in. One would have thought something as common as a timpani roll would be available in the preset multipads but unfortunately the programmers forgot about it. One solution is to select the timpani voice (can't remember whether there is actually one in the presets, otherwise use the timpani from an appropriate orchestral drum kit) and record a custom MIDI Multipad of your own drumming. An easier solution is to look online for a timpani roll sound effect mp3 and use it as an Audio Multipad. Hope this helps.

Something I was also looking for but now create my own using the sequencer , playing in usually very slowly ( reducing the tempo on the track ) can be tricky getting the right feel but the problem with creating a multi pad is the looping so it sounds natural..so my advice if you can do it for real and very effective :)

For anyone looking for a drum roll I have a PAD to try:

Adjustable via the tempo.

A long time ago a good friend of mine, sadly no longer with us, created a Timpani multi-pad set. At the time, he was charging the huge price of £2 for it - it was worth more! :) I'm sure he'd like to know that it can still come in useful. IIRC, this should be all the pads he created.

It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
