Hi, i'm new here. I want to play songs like Faithless - insomnia
and Gigi Dagostino - L'amour Toujour
Does a site exist that offers these kind of songs in Styles?
Thank you in advance! Would help me much!

reigeroy

Or is this only possible with loading midi files in de SX?
Would love to hear your thoughts about it!

hello reigeroy,
I'm replying mainly in hope that maybe someone else will jump in with better answer to your question.

From my experience, there are probably only few places where you can get (=buy) song specific custom styles -I'm talking about good styles! And to find them, uncle Google is probably your best friend. The thing is, even if we would count only the most popular songs, there exist countless of them and so nobody can offer them all. That is, if someone offers 30.. 50.. 100.. styles, what are the chances that Gigi Dagostino is among them? I would say, extremely low.

One might wonder why it's so hard to find such styles, but I can see at least two reasons for that:
1. Good style isn't easy to make. It requires a lot of experience and is very time consuming. So... how much should style cost? 4-5€? ...or 40-50€? At price of 50€ nobody would buy, and at price of 5€ simply isn't worth to bother. Not because author would be greedy, but because of the 2nd reason:

2. Styles have no protection. That is, once you have it, you can make as many copies of it as you wish. Maybe you share it with your friend.. or in worst case, you open your own business (you know what I mean). Anyway, for author of the style, it can easily happen that he sells only one piece and within a week, it will be available for downloading elsewhere.
And finally, needles to say, that those who create styles for their living (professional musicians), they aren't ready to share and neither to sell -because custom made styles are their investment.

So what can we hobby musicians do in this regard?
1. We can try to adapt some generic style so it sounds to our liking.
2. Maybe we're lucky finding such adapted style for download. Or...
3. We can try to make our own custom style.

Well. Only because you ask, I'm answering here (I can't make advertising).

I create professional styles - www.styles4k.com.
You can hear demos of all styles (recorded with the compatible keyboards) and they are compatible with genos, sx900, and sx700 (all created with the keyboards - no computers or automatic conversion).

I'm sure you'll get impressed with the overall quality.
Look at my YouTube channel, I perform every style I create.

And yes, they are pretty hard to create. They cost 4-7 US dollars - it worths for me.

Best regards from Brazil
Pedro

Hi Bodgan,
what you are saying makes a lot of sense! Thank for clearing that up.
I can live with a dance style on the PSR SX and make it sound a little like Gigi Dagostino.
I'll look into some tutorials of adjusting/tweaking styles.
Thank you for your reply!!

Hi Pedro,
I checked out your website. Those styles sounds pretty amazing! Nice job!
I'll focus on the 2 songs I mentioned in my post, but in the near future I will purchase Billie Jean from you! Sounds really good!
Also thanks for your reply on this topic!

Not sure if you are looking for sites with styles for purchase. These are the ones I have used in the past.

YamahaMusicSoft is very high quality.

D-O-O is generally high quality since they seem to create the midi files first and then also a style version, and have much more variety and a lot of styles.

Midispot is high quality, but not that much variety (and mostly midi, but occasionally new styles).

PVK Midifiles is high quality, but doesn't have many styles.

Hi

Have a look at the site highlighted below. They do not appear to have the specific songs you asked for but lots of similar ones. I have also sent you a PM.

I can second the Do-DO-DO web site as well as the Styles24.  I have a SX700 and they all work perfectly.   Styles24 his styles mix some midi with the styles.  Lastly he has great demo's of the styles.
