Sorry for maybe stupid question, but what is the maximum length (bars, beats or notes) of multipad in SX700?

hi Lacko,
As far I know, there's no length limit specified for midi Multipads. In practical usage, the length is never longer than the length of main variation in style (for which MultiPad is created). For example, if main variation has four bars, then I see no reason to make it longer than that.
The length limit of single Main variation in style is 128 bars and so I guess that's also the limit for MultiPad.

I have multipads that are more than 256 bars long.

I think the limit is more than we'll ever need.

Yamaha used what they (I think it was Richard Bower) called 'long multipads' when they did the launch of the T5. IIRC, it was the James Bond theme. Several multipads in use, one lasting the whole tune. I've not gone beyond 32 bars but I've no doubt that I could create something much longer, either on the Genos or on the computer.

My only niggle is the limitations on voices etc that you can use, so some of my long pads have had to be audio. And there, there would be no effective limit.
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.
