Hello, I have the SX700 and I downloaded the free  playlist. Tried them all. I don't know where they got their ideas but the all came off quick smart. Just make your own or load ones that you can trust. Regards, Denn

Hi John.
I too have the PSR SX700...great instrument.

If you go to the STYLES tag on this site, you can download the .mfd. (music finder database) file for another keyboard onto a memory stick . You only want the .mfd file. NOT the text file

Simply download the one you want, (for example Tyros5.mfd)  plug it into your usb on the SX700,  press the Expansion/User button next to your style section, and select  the Tyros 5 file.
It will then ask you for permission to convert it so that you can use it on this keyboard. Ok that and let it download which can take about 8 minutes.

After it's done this, just press on the new file (as before), then press your PLAYLIST button. You will have about 2,300 songs to choose from.

Select the one you want, press load and it will set the keyboard up ready to play.

You can load other .mfd files as you wish.

Hope that helps.  Keith

Hi Mike,

here you can find some MusicFinder files (.mfd) that can be imported as a Playlist on PSR-SX models or Genos:
>>> https://psrtutorial.com/sty/OF/musicfinder.html

hi guys thanks for all your help. before i update my playlist is there a way to backup my old playlist if ever i need to put it back on? thanks again

Divemaster

Hi John

You don't need to delete your old playlist.

You can have as many different playlists as you want on your memory stick.
I have, for example the ones for Tyros 2, 3, 4 and 5, and also a few others probably about 8 in all.
Music written during different years is often on the earlier lists but not on the more recent ones.

Just load them in as previously advised,

I use a 16gb memory stick, and it is way more than adequate for the SX700.

Hi Divemaster, would you care to share those playlists?  8)
I would be ever so grateful
Thank you

Hi Mike,

Just download the desired MusicFinder files (.mfd) here:
>>> https://psrtutorial.com/sty/OF/musicfinder.html

Then import each .mfd file as a Playlist. (Registration Bank files (.rgt) for the individual MusicFinder records (song titles) and a Playlist file (.tsv) will be automatically created for each .mfd file.)

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Mike

As Chris has shown, most PSR and TYROS playlists are easily accessed for your SX 700 via the above links (look in the two blue highlighted boxes).

I do have some others from other sites, and also some other stuff that sounds very good on the SX700.
If you'd like that PM me and I can send you the files, either bit by bit or in one go.

Also try the Josoft site which has a lot of useful information. Their site is a bit fiddly to work round, but there's all sorts of useful stuff there.

Hi folks

this was an interesting thread for me, as I have never tried to import MFD files.

I did download some MFD files, put them in my USB stick, and then in my SX900.  Try as I may, none of the MFD files show up at all when I try to bring them into my playlist.   This is a USB stick formatted on my unit, and from which I just installed several expansion packs -- so it should be "valid."

Do these MFD files need to be in a specific folder?  They are currently in the root folder.

Thanks !

Hi lmederos, How or where are you trying to load them to?

Hi Mike

I'm following instructions laid out on Reference Manual for SX900, pg 91  (attached).

Thanks

Hi all, I've installed MusicFinderView and updated to v.3.1.3 to realize that SX700 is not listed in Target Instruments.. What did I do wrong?

The latest version is 3.2.  See the text relating to SX700 which uses Playlist in place of the Music Finder.
