Crazy that this came out in 2007(?), this sounded way better than the Tyros 2 IMO. But guess since this is Yamaha we're talking about, they probably just ate the E-80 alive. I can barely find any YT videos on these Roland arrangers, probably since barely anyone bought them...

Hi --

I like the more fusion-y jazz styles. I noticed a few of these style names in the Roland G70 Conversions:

Maybe the same styles or similar?

The G70/E80 were indeed very good, however the Tyros 3 was right around the corner (the Tyros 2 launched late 2005, T3 was fall 2008). And the Rolands actually had more editing features for styles, something Yamaha *still* doesn't let us do onboard (separate min/Maj accompaniments, i.e. using all 16 tracks for a style). The piano sound was better too. WHat hurt, I think, we the lack of "megavoice" style guitars in the Roland accompaniments, which meant that the Roland styles acoustic strums sounded very midi. The Roland arangers forced the huge improvement in the piano sound from T2 to T3 (T1 - T2 used a very thin 2 dynamic layer piano)
