Hi,
I just recently upgraded from Tyros to Genos. on the Tyros there was a STOP button and when we pressed the Stop, it went to the beginning of the MIDI file which I love the function. However, on the Genos, there is no STOP button and when I press Play/Pause, it pauses only and does not go back to the beginning of the MIDI song. Then if I press, the PREV, it goes to a different MIDI file and that's a significant concern. Are there any tips or tricks to go back to the beginning MIDI song without another MIDI song pulled? This is a HUGE function that I missed.

Can we do a custom button for STOP MIDI file?   Please help.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You can modify the action of the Prev (rewind) button.
Press [MENU] - [Song Setting] - [Play] and change "Song Previous Type"  to Song Top Only

This returns the playback position to the Song top, and does not move to the previous Song.

Stijn, Thank you. I did not know this, is this really in the Owners manual? because I did not locate it as I read through them.

Hi SG2009,

Please first check which firmware version is installed on your Genos (in "Menu > Utility > System > Version"). If V2.13 is not yet installed, I recommend downloading and installing the current firmware here:
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/firm_genos.html

By the way, the feature mentioned by Stijn was introduced with Genos firmware V2.00. (See the "Version History" on the firmware update page linked above.)

Regarding manuals: You may currently have outdated Genos manuals. You can download the current versions of the Owner's Manual, Reference Manual and Data List here (as already mentioned by Stijn):
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/genos/downloads.html#product-tabs

Best regards,
Chris

● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
