Administrator,
Why did you remove my photo attachments? What was wrong with it?
Bert

Hi Bert,

There was probably nothing wrong with your photo attachments. According to my information, the administrator recently deleted older file attachments to free up a few GB of server space. Apparently, some more recent attachments were also deleted in this process (as was the case with a post I made yesterday).

Just modify your existing post by re-uploading the original attachments and then delete the "[attachment deleted by admin]" text as well.

Best regards,
Chris

● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi Bert,

Our forum storage space for attachments was almost completely full, so it became necessary to remove almost 4 gigabytes of data from our server or all future attempts to post attachments would have been automatically rejected.  I removed all attachments globally, so just do as I advised Chris to do and reattach your photo attachments to your post.

Optionally, you can also upload your photos to an online storage account and subsequently share the link to your files, which will be safe from removal.

Awesome, thanks Bert! It's very clear to see where the hinge breaks.

Fortunately it doesn't happen often, but more often than one would expect. I've never seen a Tyros knob break. However, the Tyros knobs are pretty loud, and I love the more silent nature of the Genos knobs.

I am convinced that Yamaha know about the hinge vulnerability and if there ever will be a successor to the Genos, the knobs will have a different hinge design or material.

To your point, Roger...please feel free to remove my post with the button hinge circled in yellow. I think most people understand it now...if it gives a wee bit of server space. Every little bit helps, or should that be "byte?" 🤣

Thanks...🎄.

I hope pictures can stay for at least a week or month before they are deleted. This gives people the time to download them.

I already downloaded Lee's and Bert's photos.

I removed about 5 years of attachments, approximately 4 gigabytes, which goes back well beyond when we started requiring certain file types to be shared via an online storage account.  I have a serious doubt if this will be necessary again, due to the file type limitations.  The current allowed file types will be much smaller files than those allowed a few years ago. :)

👍. Well done, Roger.

Perhaps a good idea is for members to use cropped images instead of images that contain an object surrounded by a lot of peripheral data that serves no purpose.
