Hello everyone, my name is Bob. I am 72 years old and retired from the healthcare industry.  My wife and I have been married nearly 54 years and have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren in college.

I started piano lessons at age 62.  My first keyboard was an inexpensive Casio.  Once I decided to stick with it, I purchased a Yamaha Clavinova CVP 509PE.  It's a fabulous instrument.  At first I was a little intimidated by all the buttons, but over time I've learned to use all the features and have downloaded 100s of styles, voices, and registrations.

I play primarily American Jazz Standards using fake books and lead sheets.  One of my misgivings is I've concentrated on learning to chord with my left hand and play single note melody with my right hand. Today I wish I had spent more time learning to play chords with my right hand.  I know how to form the chord with my right hand, but my fingers aren't trained to do it, so I struggle.  This becomes important when I attempt to harmonize the melody, something I think adds to the over quality of the performance.

That's my story.  I look forward to interacting with the group.
