Hi

I recently rearranged the data on the flash drive that I use to connect to the Genos containing my styles.
When I search for a file, select it, and look at the path, the path is a folder that I deleted when I rearranged the data. Also when I select some files after a search, an error message says "The file cannot be found".

I am suspecting that the search might be using a cache. Is there a way to clear or reset the cache for searching?

I tried restarting the Genos. I tried scanning the flash drive for errors. Neither of these actions helped.

Restart and keep the Genos on for some time before trying again. It needs some time to index the files again.

Toril is correct. You need to let the keyboard update its index, which it will do when it's not doing anything else.

Put the USB stick in, turn the keyboard on, and go play a game of golf. It will be updated when you get back.

Thanks. It worked. After about an hour since the restart.

So the cache or index gets deleted everytime you restart?

No. The index is updated every time there's a change in files, but it takes some time if there's a major change (like a new USB drive).

Thank you. It's good to know how it works.

So it's not necessary to restart, just wait?

Exactly. And you seldom have to wait — just when you plug in a new USB stick.
