Hi all,

There are two more new Expansion Packs from Yamaha Mexico: "Sabor a Costa" and "Sabor Latino". For the contents, please see the attached screenshots. :)

Fortunately, unlike the "Cumbia Sonidera" pack recently presented by our forum member Teknoss, these two packs come in unprotected .ppf format, so they can also be used for models other than SX900/700/600, e.g. Genos/Tyros5.

Here are the download links for the two packs:
>>> SaborACostaSX900_700_600 (ppf/ppi)
>>> SaborLatinoSX900_700_600 (ppf/ppi)

You can download the Styles extracted from these packs from my Dropbox here:
>>> sty SaborACostaSX900_700_600.zip
>>> sty SaborLatinoSX900_700_600.zip

Have fun!

Best regards,
Chris

Thank you Chris!
I wanted to try to understand why some recent packs are protected and others are not.
Is there any reason more than simply technical, that is, compatibility of the voices / styles used?
And why the other Pack doesn't have a Genos version?
Curious thing... 🤔

By the way, could you or someone from the forum send me the unprotected version of the Mariachi & Norteno pack?
Regards,
Gabriel

Thanks for your feedback, Gabriel!

Unfortunately, I don't know the reasons why some newer packs come in the user-friendly, unprotected .ppf format, while others only come in the protected .cpf format (and then unfortunately cannot be used on all current models if no corresponding .cpf file is available).

In the case of the "Cumbia Sonidera" pack, I almost suspect that it's just "sloppiness", that is, that the Yamaha employee in question only accidentally saved .cpf files (instead of .ppf) for the models in question. and these files were then published unchecked.

P.S.
You can download the S970 version (unprotected .ppf) of the "Mariachi & Norteno" pack (internally called "Norteno & Mariachi") from my Dropbox by clicking the following link. This version also works on the Genos (but NOT on Tyros5, as many of the Voices included are not compatible with the T5).
>>> Norteno&Mariachi_S970_Genos (ppf version)

Have fun!

Hello Chris,

I just want to let folks know, I am using all three of these packs (Cumbia Soniders, Sabor a Costa and Sabor Latino) in my PSR-S950 keyboard.

The missing RHY1, I replaced with the "PopLatinKit" and the missing RHY2, I replaced with the "CubanKit". These work the best and if a "klunk" sound is heard, it is an easy fix to delete it in the Style Creator.

Also for a missing CHD1 or CHD2, first try using the "Marimba" or even the "SteelDrums".

Thank you again Chris for extracting and posting these styles for us from these 3 new Yamaha packs.

Regards,
Drake
