Hi, does anybody know if the Yamaha FC7 volume pedal will work with my SX700?

Hi Dupe,

Yes, the FC7 is the recommended expression pedal for the SX700.

It is important that you connect the pedal to the switched-off keyboard, usually to pedal jack #2 on the SX700. (Pedal jack #1 is usually used for a foot switch like FC5 or FC4A. In principle, however, it doesn't matter which pedal jack you use.)

After you have switched on the keyboard and the home display is shown, you press the Direct Access button and then you move the FC7 up or down slightly. This opens the Assignable display. There you set the "Volume" function and determine which parts should be controlled with the pedal. (For me, the volume pedal only affects the RIGHT 1/2/3 parts.)

After you have set everything as desired, close the Assignable display by pressing the Exit button. This automatically saves the pedal settings in the "System Setup" (so that they are available again after a restart. But be careful: The pedal settings can be changed at any time by REGISTRATIONS (in which different settings are memorized). Therefore you should definitely create a setup registration that allows you to restore your favorite pedal settings if they were changed unexpectedly.

Chris
