My dear friend, Don Mason, Passed away this morning. He was the kindest, most considerate person I ever met. He will be dearly missed by and all on this and other forums.

Gary. that is such sad and a shocking news. I spent time with him in Shreveport a couple of times, and he was a really nice guy, and of course a highly professional entertainer. He never really got over his serious bout with Covid. If you have contact with his wife, please pass on my sincere condolences.
Mike

Gunnar Jonny

Very sad news.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
RIP Don. 🙏

I have always highly appreciated Don's presence here, at SZ and at other forums.
He has always been positive and constructive. During many years, he also has given me a lot of new knowledge, and not least, a nice collection of his music.
I have downloaded what he gave us the opportunity to do, and when we drive our motorhome, we enjoy his songs that I have stored on a USB stick.
Don knew this, and he also knew that I'm one of his biggest fans.
As the years have passed, a good friendship has developed between many here and specially at SZ.
Don is one of those that I am proud to consider as a good 'online' friend.

Gary,  I know you and Mason were very close friends, I too am saddened by the news Don was one of a kind.  We can never forget his talent, musicianship and comedy.   I always enjoyed his April 1st April fools pranks, always got a good laugh out of them.  Rest In Peace Mr. Mason!

Don Mason was a one of a kind musician and human being. He was a master at his craft, a peer I was in awe of and a friend I loved. Donny, Nice write up.  I still have a DVD of Don, you and the gang who played at Don's arranger jam a few years back.

mikf

I was at that jam. Don was one of those fortunate people who get to make a living doing what they love - entertaining. And that's a life well lived. Something we all aspire to.

Mike,  At some point when I'm back in RI where the DVD is I'm going to watch it again.

Hi Guys, sorry I'm late for this news.

Don Mason, musician and wonderful person.

On two occasions that I wrote to him for advice, he always answered me kindly, with clear and detailed answers.

Rest in peace,
