Hi All,

Basic question - should the DGX 670 come with a paper User Manual?

Mine didn't and although I downloaded a pdf version, I would find it easier working from a paper copy.

Maybe, maybe not. May depend on your "area", whatever that means.

From Yamaha's specs............

Hi Zaphod,

The Owner's Manual is usually printed and included with the instrument. In any case, the Reference Manual and Data List must be downloaded as PDF from the Yamaha website. The Owner's Manual should also be downloaded as a PDF here (which you have already done).

I work exclusively with the PDF manuals (on a laptop, tablet or smartphone). I recommend (especially Yamaha beginners) to always open the Owner's Manual and Reference Manual on the computer at the same time and to use the PDF Reader's search function to quickly jump to all relevant text passages for a specific search term. (There are instructions for many functions in BOTH manuals.)

I recommend checking the DGX-670 download site linked above regularly. (Sometimes there are also updated manuals after a firmware update.)

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

While some people are able to navigate multiple PDF manuals adequately with computerized search tools, I personally printed all three sources - the Owner's Manual, Reference Manual, and Data List - double-sided on 8 1/2 x 11 paper and placed them in a single three-ring binder. When researching topics, I can sit at the keyboard and look through my binder without needing to also manage a computer device. That's what works best for me.

Ok, looks like it isn't necessarily supplied, fair enough.

I like the idea of printing it out and putting in a ring binder.  That will make it very easy to keep it open at an appropriate page whilst figuring things out.
