Hi Guys,

I know you can save a registration to load the multipad of your choice (in this case a vocal pad) when you press the button, but is there a way to get the Multipad to play as soon as you select a registration button?

Thanks,
Rick D.

Update

I figured it out on my own. If you hold the Setting/Sync Start button then press the the Multipad button, it will start when you play the first chord.

Correct, Rick.

I've used that technique on occasion. It's a great tool for giving the style some extra variation.

The down side is, if you want to turn off a Multipad, you must push the 'Stop + Multipad' button combo at the same time, instead of just pushing the live Multipad button. This is a very poor design when your having to use the right hand for a melody and you want to turn the Multipad off quickly. It's not easy when you must press two buttons at the same time -  and the right ones! They're easy to miss.
"Learn" your music correctly, then "practice" it. Don't practice mistakes because you'll learn them.

Thanks Lee,

You are right, and the older I get the harder it is to do two things at once LOL!

My multipad is a vocal and I am having trouble syncing it to the style. I removed all the silence at the beginning of the vocal, but there is a delay using the sync/start of a couple of seconds.  Also the vocal doesn't start right at beat one. there is a rest I must add to the vocal track. this is becoming more work then it is worth!
I will keep at it!

Thanks again,

On the SX-900 it's a one button push STOP to turn off Multipads.

Hi Rick,
what I've learned actively about the handling of multipads and practising in the past there is something you have to take care about.
If the multipad (blinking until activated by a lefthand chord) shall start on the "1"  of a bar (say bar 12) and the registration with its synchronized multipad will change on the "3" of the bar before (say bar 11) you have to wait to hit the left hand chord until the "1" of bar 12 follows.
A Multipad starts at once if you plays a chord before the "1" (within bar 11 in my example) and the multipad is not in sync to the melody.
A multipad with a loop, say 4 bars, plays repeting without an end on a MP-track (for example track 2) if you change to a follow-on registration (i.e. change from REG 3 to 4).
I personally have an own hand-made user-specific multipad with 4 tracks, each of it is a STOP-Multipad, means I sync.-activate this MP on the same track as the one which needs a stop if the following registration will be activated. So, your right hand is free to play the melody till the next reg.-change.
This MP has an instrument of your choice with only one note and volume 0 (zero), runs not as a loop (=with out repeating) and with more bars as the song has.
OR: you use another MP with the same track if changing to the next registration button.
My solution  is very efficient, that's my experience over years.

Thanks for that, Larry. I should clarify my original thoughts. I think the Stop button cancels all running Multipads. If you have two running, I think that's when you must press Stop + the desired Multipad. It's still a poor design. We should be able stop an individual pad by pressing its button number, without having to press Stop as well. Stop should be global function only.
"Learn" your music correctly, then "practice" it. Don't practice mistakes because you'll learn them.

That's true Lee, that the STOP button stops all active multipads.  Not too hard to start again by selecting one, or selecting a registration that activates a multipad. I agree that a better design would be to select a multipad to turn it off, just like you use it to turn it on.

Klaus,

You certainly shed some light on the subject of MP's.
I think with this new information and the information from Lee and Lahawk, I should be able to get this sync'd properly.

Thanks Guys,
