A senior gave me 2 sing-a-long mp3 files of 1 song being sung in 2 languages and asked me to cut half of each then combine into one new mp3 with both languages.
Is there any software could handle it? Can I use Audacity?
Thanks everyone,
Ted

If there were wav files you could probably do this easily and seamlessly  - but MP3, I doubt it.

Yes, you can use Audacity to merge mp3 files, Ted.  :)

Audacity would also be my choice. I use it for all of my multitrack sound editing.

I am an Audacity Fan also. You can Google any question you have on how to do what you want to do, there are a lot of videos out there.

Wow! Thanks everyone. I never used Audacity but will try it. Never heard about the MP3Direct Cut but it seems promising. I will try it too.
Very appreciate all your help. What a great forum!

Hi Ted,

The big advantage of MP3DirectCut is that the MP3 files are processed directly here, so no decoding and re-encoding is necessary as is the case with audio/wave editors such as Audacity.

Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi Chris,
That's great. I like simple things. Definitely will try it.
Thanks,
Ted

Mp3Direct Cut (freeware) will do this for you.

Hi Aprilla,
The website asks to install the Wave Browser first. Is it safe?
Thanks

mikf

Take a look at the link below. I doubt you need to install it, probably 'forcing' it's way in by aggressive marketing.
https://howtoremove.guide/wave-browser-malware/
It is listed here as potentially unsafe.

To be honest, I don't remember that part but I've been using it for many years and it's never given any trouble. I don't find Wave Browser in my computer though so maybe try ignoring that the first time, see how it goes.

This is another program that will split/join mp3s that I've noticed recommended but I've not used it

Just use Audacity. Do not make a "Mountain out of a Mole Hill". 2 minutes and this project is done. Super simple job here.

ticktock

It's better safe than say sorry. I'll use Audacity then.
Thanks everyone. Ted 😊

AUDACITY is the one, free of course. I do this all the time.
