SX900 Instrument I have saved all 8 buttons on a song in the Registration Memory.
I want to change the 1 key setting afterwards. (Left, Right1 volume change, Voice replacement)
Here I pressed the Mixer / EQ button and did this in this menu.
Then I got stuck because I don't know how to save this change
so that the data for the other 7 buttons remains unchanged.

Hello,

You may want to try the following.

Set the board the way you like it, then when you are satisfied with all the settings just press the memory button followed by the reg 1 button.  Then test it to make sure you have all the changes you want, that is, play a song.

If you wish to make another change just repeat the process again. This will override the first change you made.

From there, all is well. However the saving will take place when you move on to another song or switch the registration bank, where you will be told that you have made a change to something and whether or not you wish to save that change..just follow the prompts.

Voila!!!!  Done

Hoping I am clear

best regards

Ron

Memorizing one button has no impact on the other buttons. Just re-memorize button 1 as needed. Once you're done, save the registration bank.

I thought that Pityus was referring to the fact that the registration does not remember the items that where checked for the different buttons.
I personally find this a real problem when changing an existing registration.

For example :
Setup - push memory - check items to be saved - push reg button 1
Other setup - push memory - check itmes to be saved - push reg button 2
Other setup - push memory - check itmes to be saved - push reg button 3
...
...
Other setup - push memory - check items to be saved - push reg button 8

A week later I would like to change reg button 2 in that registration
I make the setup - push memory - ?????  WHAT BUTTONS WHERE CHECKED ORIGINALLY
The buttons that are checked are those from the last registration that was created, and that can be any.

If not the same items as originally will be checked for this button 2 this can change a lot in your registration.
I think that Yamaha should save the checked items in the parameters of the registration button(s).

Etienne

Hello vlbrgt,

Respectfully, I have to disagree with your perception of what Pityus was asking..

Yours is another issue that is part and parcel of understanding how registrations work; We can save that one for another thread.

However, I could be all wet.

Perhaps we can wait for an answer from the Original Poster.

Absolutely, and it's a real pain. We've asked Yamaha to fix it in the past, but it's fallen on deaf ears.

Hello Fred

I saw somewhere that if you simply check all the parameters you will always know what's what..

Not to say that this setup should be used in a start-up registration, where you would check off foot pedal and mike settings.

This seems to work for me.

What do you think?

Doesn't work for me. I check only those groups that I want the registration to remember.

I don't want to memorize pedal, line out, scale, live control, assignable, etc. as I want those settings to be global.

Also, within a song, I will often transpose verses to add some spice to the performance, but for the chorus, I don't want transpose memorized so it will maintain the transposition from each verse.

A registration knows what groups to load so it would be very easy to set the Memory screen with the proper check marks. Don't know why Yamaha has abandoned us on this issue.

Pityus

Thanks RONBO for the help!
I bought this song for the SX900 here:
https://styles-24.de/epages/ff46e5fa-0caf-4a2e-ae78-efc83c5c1922.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/ff46e5fa-0caf-4a2e-ae78-efc83c5c1922/Categories/DemoVideos/El_condor_pasa__E_Simoni__Simon__Garfunkel
Unfortunately, I got the Genos version, which was edited for 10 REG buttons, and the sounds also had to be refined.
At button 1, I changed the volume of 2 bands and replaced a new mandolin tone with a longer decay.
At button 8, I increased the volume of a guitar sound and added Sustain.
I couldn't go to another song in the REG menu after saving,
only when I turned the instrument off and on.
After that, everything worked fine.

Hello Pityus

Glad you were able to get where you wanted to go

Understanding registrations is not easy sometimes but eventually the light comes on and it becomes second nature

Try a few more changes for practice

Thanks again for your response
