Hello all ,

I truly wish I could hook up a wireless headphone to my Genos.  So far as I know it cannot be done.

I also hope I am wrong about that assumption.

Any thoughts?

Regards,

Ron.

Ronbo,

You can hook up your headphones to play back your recordings and they will work fine, you just need a bluetooth transmitter adapter to go into the headphone jack. What you can't do with blue tooth headphones is play live music. There is a latency problem as each not you hit represents a stop and start and the timing gets all messed up from the point you hit the not until you hear it.

Hope thie helps,

Rick D.

Hi Ron,

You would need to connect an external Bluetooth V5 transmitter to the Main Out jacks or to the Headphones jack. At least BT version 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2 must be used (preferably the latter).

Of course, the ear buds / air pods used must also be compatible with this BT version, and the transmitter and ear buds / air pods must support the same audio codec. But even then there is a high risk that the audio signal will be transmitted with a relatively large latency (delay), i.e. not in quasi-real time. A monitor signal used for live playing should normally be transmitted with a latency of 6 ms (milliseconds) at most, and this is difficult to achieve even with BT version 5.2 and optimal conditions.

By the way, you could use a professional wireless In-Ear Monitoring system. These devices are made for low-latency transmission:

But in my opinion, such systems (wireless transmission) are actually not needed as a keyboard player. Just plug in some wired earphones/headphones. So you will have better sound for sure and also - zero latency. :)

Best regards,
Chris

Hello Rick and Chris,

Thanks a load for the answers

It seems this pipe dream I have is a little out of reach.  I
I guess I'll have to wait for technology to catch up with what I believe could be very handy.

This all came about when I tripped over the chord on my headphones and pulled the wiring apart.. UGLY!!!

O well!

Again, thanks for your feedback.

regards

Ron
