Hello all
I'm having the KB for more than 2 weeks and spent lot of time enjoy the wonderful sound. I also get a new fast 128GB USB small stick for it and loaded all my styles + samples + mp3 up to 30GB of data. As the data gowns bigger the KB lock up with the message. After about 5 times I made acall for Yamaha tech and they pointed out that the manual only suggests 32GB. I push it to 64GB and did not have any problems yet. for the last two days. Hopefully everything OK because I love this KB.
I attach the message below for your reference. Hope you don't have problems like my

Hi ,
Yamaha has a list on the website. Non of the USB sticks recommended are over 32 gig.

Hi  :

Never met any problem with my 64 GB USB stick.
I am Tyros5 user.
Even 2 × 64GB is not a problem.

Good luck, Babette

That message will also appear if you are trying to load something the keyboard dose not like or has become corrupted. Also remember to give the keyboard time to execute what you are asking. The processor needs time to breath in its executions.

I use USB drives 64, 32 and in deed I use couple 128 Gigs, as long they are USB 3....And Eileen is correct, that message on that keyboard is NOT because of the USB size, is because it has a corrupted file....
I have seen that screen some times, and that is the case, a corrupted file, could be a Multipad, Registration, User Voice, User Style....

My 2 Cents.

I used a 128 sandisk usb drive to up date sx900 with no problems...
more likely human error...or files not extracted properly..

Hi
Both my 128GB and 64GB are Sandisk 150mb/s USB3. I cloned my 64GB from 128GB and it only happened with the 128GB when I run the registration and change the button contently. I think it did not load the data fast enough.

Hi,
Just out of interest, does anyone using a128 gig USB actually get close to using its full capacity?
Up until last upgrade, I used to run my Biab  from a 128 USB, that included all the audio drums and real instruments. Literally 1000s of audio loops.

Is there that much data actually out there for the keyboard that requires such a large amount of capacity?

LOL

I use the 128gb just because it encourages my fantasy to fill it up one day! LOL

This the same reason why I'm sometimes busy collecting Tens of thousands of styles instead of just Play!!! Hahaha

In terms of the card. You must use a high-quality card! Forget the compatibility issue. There are many cheap 128gb and few High-quality ones
Remember that these cards are also going under "abuse" by subjecting them to constant reading and writing and most importantly Disconnecting
The disconnecting part is sometimes overlooked because on a normal PC it will be recommended to first "Eject" the USB after which windows will show a message: "It is now safe to remove you hardware" - This is important because what windows do is gently stoping reading/writing process AND discontinuing electrical current to the drive.

The GENOS DOESN'T HAVE this feature and the user simply pull the usb out! , thus, High quality cards will be able to take more of this abuse without getting corrupted.

Haha, good one.

I ended up with a couple of spare 128 gig USB's too. BIAB finally got just that bit too large to run off 128gig , had to upgrade to 256gig.

By the sound of things I can use them on the sx, but I'll be wasting so much space. My files have barely made a dent in the 16 gigs, I have. Haha

Ok, now I know why, didn't realise the audio styles can play from USB stick. I was under the impression anything to do with audio had to be loaded in the sx . Learn something new daily, just keeps getting better.

Some keyboard manufacturers (ie Roland) list certain makes of USB Flash drives that users have experienced problems.   These include those made by Blaze(Silicon Power) Elecom Transcend

Hi elad770.
I have to agree with your post RE: PC and disconnect USB. I have a four point powered USB hub which is switchable and always turn off the USB in use before removal. I also use 128gb USB sticks and have never had any problems with loss of data.

my suggestion better to use pendrives first have to format in keyboard its useful because it will format in fat 32.. so if you first do this no problem never add any unnecessary file in pendrive, its only related to keyboard only to copy..  to use within 32 g.b.
