You want Murray Best''s Yamaha Registration manager. It's available in the Utilities section of the PSRTutorial site.

Hi Dusan,

Please note that in order to read Genos V2.0 and PSR-SX Registrations, the Update 5.1.1 Special of the Registration Manager must be installed. You can find information about this on the product page linked by Eileen.

I'm happy with my old Tyros 5, which still works great. Maybe I'll buy Genos in better times ...

Nevertheless, I recommend that you install the "Special" version of the Registration Manager. For example, you can convert Registration Bank files from the SX900 or SX700 Bonus Playlists or from the Genos V2.0 Superior Pack Playlist for use with the Tyros5.

I'm just trying to convert registrations from the new Yamaha Romance Latino pack, but I'm not doing well.
I don't know the program yet and will have to learn.
Perhaps a brief tip on how to most easily convert registrations from a YEM pack to my instrument would be welcome ...
I am allredy extract reg. files from pack to new created folder...

Hi Dusan,

The "Romance Latino" Pack is available for Genos as well as SX900, SX700 and SX600 (.ppf format). I recommend converting the Registrations of the Genos version and possibly the SX900 version of this Pack for use with the Tyros5.

To extract the .rgt files, the relevant Pack must first be imported into the YEM. Then you close the YEM and instead open the program "YEM Content Explorer" (YEM-CE). There you mark the desired Pack with a tick (in the upper left corner of the pack symbol!) and click on "Options > Export Sty, Mid, Rgt, etc."

As I said, it is important that you have installed the "5.1.1 Special" version of the Yamaha Registration Manager (YRM). After starting the YRM, "Version 5.1 Special" should be displayed in the lower left corner of the program window.

First you have to set the Target Keyboard: Click on the "Change" button, choose your model (Tyros5 or Tyros5-76) and then click on "Select".

To convert a single Registration Bank, load the relevant .rgt file by clicking on the light blue button "Load Registration Bank". Make sure that the check box in the green button "Save/Convert Registration Bank" is checked and then click on this button to save the converted Bank.


In order to convert all Registration Bank files of a folder, you do NOT load a Registration Bank after starting the YRM. Instead you click on the light blue button "Batch Bank Conversion".

In the following window you select the "Source Directory", ie the folder in which the .rgt files to be converted are located, as well as the "Target Directory", ie the folder that will later contain the converted Registration Bank files. (If necessary, you can create a new, empty folder here.)

Now click on the button "Convert Banks", if desired on "Save Report" and finally on "Exit" to leave the Batch Convert mode.
