The guy is Daniel Fisher, Director of Product optimization at Sweetwater, and a very accomplished musician on synths.

If you like his work, just do a search on YouTube itself, he has literally dozens of videos on using synths.  LOL, wish he did some explanations of Arrangers!

Paolo of Synthmania also has very good advice on playing not just guitar but other instruments on keyboard. Basically it all amounts to considering and imitating the range, note spacing/reach, and techniques used on each instrument. E.g. articulating/arpeggiating chords slightly to imitate a strum on instruments like guitar or harp, using much wider spacing of notes within chords than piano to imitate the tuning of guitar strings, etc. There are always limits but small changes make a big difference in how realistic it sounds. Same of course goes in reverse when using a guitar as a synth to play keyboard sounds.

I agree for playing the guitar you should LIMIT the range to "1".

For me however this method is not realistic for playing solo live and using various style Mains and singing plus turning your harmony on and off. Don Mason was the best at showing you how to do it all I thought. I just wish there were lots of his videos on YouTube.
