Hello

I have ben looking at speakers for my SX700 and I am considering:-

Logitech Z623, Z533 and Z313 for my limited budget.

They will be used at home only in a fairly small room for personal use.

Would any/all of these be suitable and are they easy to set up? I have been looking at a previous old post and it seems there are alternative set up arrangements?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Get Studio Monitors. Like Eris 4.5 or something in your budget.

Thank you Norman.

Your suggested speakers seem to be out of my budget compared to Logitech?

Am I being optimistic?

I use Logitech Z623 speakers on a Genos and they are more than adequate for my own use. They are in a medium size room and I only play for my own personal pleasure. People who have heard the speakers were very impressed with the quality of the sound. Most of the time I use high quality headphones.

They are very easy to setup but you will require 2 x 6.5mm mono plug to mono RCA adapters and maybe a stereo RCA to RCA cable to go from the keyboard audio outputs to the inputs on the subwoofer. Comes with a 3.5mm stereo audio cable but I cannot remember if it was 3.5mm to 3.5mm or 3.5mm to RCA.

If you are setting up a home studio then you will require higher quality speakers.

Sorry to be so ignorant!
When additional speakers are connected do they disconnect the onboard speakers or can they all be used?
Is the addition worthwhile?
Thanks again

Hi frank22,

To connect an active external speaker system you normally use the "Main Output" sockets (R and L / L + R). The internal loudspeakers are NOT switched off initially.

However, I don't recommend running the internal speakers at the same time. To switch off the internal speakers, plug either headphones or just a headphone adapter (6.3 mm stereo) into the PHONES socket. Alternatively, you can deactivate the internal speakers under "Speaker" in the utility display by switching from "Headphone SW" to "OFF".

Best regards,
Chris

I am asking cause I don't know.  Are the logitech speakers that much better than the on board speakers of the SX 700?  I have ordered  the SX900.  Will I need such an option? I have heard that the speakers sound really good.  I was considering ordering the Yamaha Sub (KS-SW100) to go with it for more bass.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Just one final question!

is the sound quality on the SX700 noticeably better with external speakers?

There is a huge difference with most decent speakers compared to the onboard speakers, both power and quality. If you are in the UK, (which I assume you are) consider a pair of Fluid Power B5 monitors. A few pounds outside your budget but I have a pair and they are outstanding for the money. But speakers are a personal choice and it's always best to hear them.

I am also interested but I do not find any info on Fluid B5. Are you sure you do not mean C5? Or maybe the B5 is an old type of Fluid monitors?

My apologies, mine are F5. And It's Fluid Audio not Fluid power. Senior moment.
I might also have misled you on the price. I bought these about 6 years ago and I think they were just trying to enter the market and the price was only about 100 pounds for the pair. The store said at the time they were easily the best value speaker on the market. Great sound, very solidly built.
But I see now they have almost doubled the price of the F5 and it is the C5 that is in this price range.  I guess the F5 were so good they were able to raise the price a lot so might be outside your budget. I can't comment on the C5, never heard them.

Ok. Thanks for this clarification.

It probably explains why I found the F5s so impressive.

Sorry to raise this again
I am on a very limited budget for speakers.
Would the Logitech Z533 be any good?
Would they upgrade the sound quality on my SX700?
Thanks again

All most can say is try them. We all have our own idea's of how sound should be.
