I am thinking of buying the E463 for my grandson......it has a very attractive price.....is it worth it?   ;) Flip

The E463 was my first keyboard and for me this is still the best Yamaha keyboard for beginners:
- always shows the notes and chords that you are playing
- easy to access metronome
- grand piano at any moment available with the press of one button (whatever settings you have done before with the keyboard)
- very nice sounds with the sweet/cool/etc voices, nice grand piano as well
- once you want to go a bit further, the keyboard offers some nice options in the settings
- you can easily load additional styles via USB (which is not possible with the E3xx such as the E373)
What I did not like so much:
- a lot of the "normal" voices are rather mediocre
- the sample feature to me was rather a gadget since it only works with samples that you record on the keyboard, you cannot use samples that you have downloaded from the internet

A music instrument is only worth its price if the buyer has good use of it.
OR ... if the buyer can sell it back for a good profit.
If your grandson enjoy playing or learning to play it, it is a good investment.
