Having ordered an SX900 (after much help from folks here) more than 2 months ago I would like to know if someone else falls in this "category": wainting and wainting forever for this keyboard to be available.

Curiously the SX700 seems to be available on most sites. Maybe different internal components / chipsets ?

P.S. I'm in Portugal.

Jeff Hollande

I understand your problem and feel very sorry for you.

Nowadays it is very hard to get Yamaha highend keyboards (   all over Europe  ).

I would suggest you to contact Thomann in Germany and ask them if they are willing to help you out.
Cancel your present order after receipt of Thomann's confirmation.

Good luck ! JH

I actually posted elsewhere that a component factory in China burnt down this year and it makes mainly components for the SX900 .. hence the delay ...I was lucky and found someone with one under a year old who 'didn't like the sound" so he sold it ..Love it to bits and it's "as new" apart from some felt tip pen markers on some end keys where they had written the notes !!   However the SX900 is well worth the wait!! Hang in there!!!

This store in Portugal makes a huge discount comparing with Thomanns (150€)  but that serves as nothing if it takes 1 year to arrive..

There is a guy selling one used with nearly two years old on OLX (warranty almost expiring) for 1200€ but this guy is very unpolite and weird  when answering and I dont trust him at all.

Interesting enough on several UK sites the 900 is available (Bonners, etc) but with the Brexit you can forget dealing with the UK anymore. It takes Ages for the products to arrive plus you get to pay costume taxes on arrival which makes it an impossible deal.

So I'm left with... waiting.

I received yesterday here in Italy my new SX900 from Thomann.de, after 3 days from order. Better price in Europe, if you consider special offer with stand, pedal, bag, headphone. Plus 3 years of warranty and 30 days for return without reason. Customer care by phone. No better offer out there.
(I'm not paid by Thomann! :)

Best price is in Portugal: 1540€ (not Thomann). The issue is the keyboard will take months to arrive...

Jeff Hollande

Hi  :

That is a very attractive price ( in Portugal ).
I have never seen such a low price.

Yamaha will not be happy, I guess. 🙄

But ... if you cannot wait any longer you need to pay
+ € 150,--.

That is what it is.

They are advertised here at the moment BUT I have a feeling it's still a pre-order at AUS$2999   (the converted Europe price would be around AUS$500 less.

Andertons (UK) have a B-stock SX900 for £1400, won't be there for long at that price :)

I was truly blessed this week.  I must have done some good deeds.

I'd looked for a store that had a Korg PA700 and a Yamaha SX700 to compare them over the last few months, and finally found a store that had the PA1000 and the SX900, as that would be close enough to the PA700 and the SX700.  Both were very good, although I found the Korg complicated.

I was about to walk out when they offered me the SX900, which they had just opened for me, at a discount.   Someone had ordered it, but not picked it up after 2months of arrival and given the demand another store had asked for it.  Went back and forth and just said what I thought to be a ridiculous price --- they beat it by $100!    All in all, out the door with all taxes I paid $1800 -- that is just a bit more than I would have paid for the SX700, and approx 25% of the full out the door price.

I'm still in shock.

Hi Luis.

Great story!! That's about 1525 euros in Europe(!), and even less than the 1540 euros of my (long waiting) order. I've noticed Thomann.de dropped the 900 price but only by a very small amount. Maybe pre-orders are starting to be delivered around the world. Let's hope.

The longest waiting date on any site is from Musicstore.com: February 2022 !!!

Tell us what you think after testing the 900 for a few days  :)

lmederos

I had an E443; there is just no comparison.

The voices (and the speakers) are awesome.   In just playing around, I've been able to do things that would take me forever (if at all) with the E443.

It will take me some time navigate through, but so far,  I highly recommend it.

In the earlier days the lowest selling Yamaha PSR prices were found in Indonesia.

I remember the price differences were very important compared to European, UK and even US prices.

In those days most PSR's were manufactured or maybe assembled in Indonesia.

I have no idea if Yamaha keyboards are still produced there or in China only.

Cheers, JH

Talking of PSR SX900 prices, I bought one three month ago in Thailand. Off the shelf and delivered the next day @ 52000Baht = 1321 Euros. Best deal when one considers the prices in EU or UK.
As to Thomann, I had a set of Steriologic pedals from them last month. Their delivery time was 12 days but I had to drive 250k to the customs office to collect. Not their fault, but I could well have done without a full days driving.

Hi  :

It is strange to read a new SX900 and/or a new Genos is so hard to order without a long lead time.

Does that mean most dealers
have no stock ?

Why ?

How do Yamaha help endusers to improve the lead time ?

Cross my fingers, JH

mikf

There has been part supply issues - factory fires, Covid, canal closure...
I'll bet Yamaha and their dealers are tearing their hair out.

For those residing in the UK:
Had mine on order for over three months, Yamaha started feeding them through three weeks ago. Try 'Absolute Music' (ask for Tim) who recently had new stock in or GAK (where I eventually bought mine from two weeks ago). Prices have risen since I first ordered but got mine for £1645 from GAK

Toril S

Asked in my store today. When he checked  the message Under production came up. None in stock! Yes, the price has slso gone up!!

I wonder why the SX900 price has been increased.

Will the SX600, the SX700 and the Genos also be more expensive, if not in stock  ?

And what about the lead time if the ordered products are not in stock ?

Best regards,  JH

Misu

Hi,

Yesterday I was to my friend Yamaha store, indeed SX 900 was not in stock, instead of this I found A 5000 at the same price ~1800Euro.
Very nice keyboard, better than SX 900 except smaller user memory.
I found there also Medeli brand so, I made kind of order for AKX 10, with negotiated price less than 800 Euros, because hi doesn't have this model.
Possible to be same fabrication line for SX900 & A5000 or worst hidden issue of model and they decide to don't produce anymore.
I still have on my SX 900 problems with some custom voices which works perfect in YEM but are limited up on keyboard.
Have a nice day!

When I was looking for mine last week, I heard that Yamaha was raising prices around August 16, which would explain the price increases you mention.

My local store still hass the SX900 for EUR 1850. Not cheap, but that is actually their normal price, has not been raised since the introduction.

Hi Robert :

Thank you for your feedback. 👌
That is good news for those Europeans who are looking for an SX900.

Hope your local dealer has sufficient stock.🤓

Like me you are living in The Netherlands, I guess ?

Have a nice weekend, JH

I'm in the USA I have a pristine SX900 that I've played at home except for one driveway concert I did for neighbors in the senior community I have a home in and it was in my own driveway so it's never been transported to a gig.    I have a Genos no need for the SX900 and I'll be replacing the SX900 with a digital 88 key piano.

This will be available in mid September for sale and will be asking $1800 plus shipping for it to the lower 48 states.

TiasDad

The Sx900's are now in stock at most stores in the Uk, although not in great numbers.
I had been waiting months for them to come inbefore ordering but mine now arrives on Tuesday :)

Jeff Hollande

Thank you very much for your UK SX900 info.

Did your dealer announce a price increase or ... can you still buy it at your original order price ( cross my fingers  ! )  ?

Congratulations with your new keyboard. Enjoy it ... it is a great toy !

Best wishes, JH

TiasDad

Original order price, Jeff.
I have noticed a few shops have put their prices up but as there's  plenty of choice now, I just went with a non-greedy supplier ;)

For reference, our 4 main shops with prices in GBP ..
Bonners            £1739
AC Hamilton   £1699.01 + free USB stick with 20 style packs
Anderton's           £1679
Allegro      £1876 + 8 free style packs

Good Luck.
