Hello there,

I would like to make a setup for my daughter.
She sings and plays a little piano, mostly simple chords.
Recently she asked me if it would be possible for her to be able to sing with a microphone, play the piano and record herself with her smartphone, but without spending too much money or using too much space.
I told her that the best way would be to buy a keyboard with a microphone input, but after doing some research,  I saw that any such decent combination, is way above her budget.
The cheapest solution I found, was the Casio Lk S250, at around 215 euros (we are in Germany), but I fear the quality will be very bad.
Then I thought that maybe , any keyboard with an audio line input might do the trick, if there was any device like an audio interface that we could connect between the microphone and the keyboard but without the interference of a computer.
And thats where I got lost because of my limited knowledge.
So, any help on the matter would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Dimi

Do you already have a Microphone?

Recording to the Smartphone is a bit of a Hassle,

Would you like the Piano and Vocals to be Recording together or separately?

A: No I don't. We are gona have to buy one too.
B: Yes it is. But at the moment, that's what she wants. Only to make casual videos for insta, but with her voice a little bit amplified and if possible, with some simple effects.
C: Yes, voice and piano together. Speed and easyness (is that a word?) are the main aspects here.

I am planing to buy a PSR SX600 when it comes out on the market and I think that would be a good idea for what she wants, but its too expensive for her and we live in the same building but different appartments, so she wants something for her own space.

Thanks for addressing my issue :)

Very interesting!

Although, I can't get the whole picture.
Would the keyboard be connected to the line in?
And what about the video?
Take it with her smartphone and then combin it with the recordin before uploding?
If so, then it's not what we want.

You said that you have a piano.

Is it acoustic or Electric?

I am sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
But I don't think I said so.

Ha ha, I see. You are correct. It's only because of my bad english. I meant she plays the piano a little.
That's when she comes to me and plays on my PSR EW400.

Normanfernandez

I never tried to connect a microphone to my phone for Recording
So I can't say anything about that.

I'm not completely sure about this.
I think the PSR EW 400 has USB to Pen Drive and a Inbuilt Audio Interface that you can connect to a PC and use Audacity to record.

Here one Suggested Method

Using the PSR EW 400 ( Recording Facility ) that's if it has.
Getting a Portable Microphone Recoder ( that way you don't need a separate Audio Interface)
    Here's the tricky part.
Merging both the tracks
You can use AUDACITY to get the keyboard and Portable Microphone tracks mixed
if you're doing video you can use a free software VSDC
This could be the cheapest so far.

USB Mics aren't as good as the Interface Setup.

This Method would require some  Software Learning.

Also VSDC has project templates for Instagram Support.

This method involves a PC.

If you have any questions please feel free to post!

You have mentioned that you don't want to use your computer.

But that method doesn't come cheap.
