Assign expression pedal to PAD part in accompaniment possible?

Let's say that I want an organ voice on PAD track of the accompaniment. It would be more realistic if I could live control that organ volume with expression pedal (same as I do with Right voices).

I tried to figure out how to get that, explored the User Manual, searched in the Forum, but couldn't find an answer.

Could anybody help, please?

Thank you,

Angelo

As far as my knowledge goes you can't control the styles like that.
But the nearest you can go is style Velocity.
Dynamic Control for Styles.
The down side would be the entire style is affected.

You could program Volume changes in the style, but that too has its limits. ( loop )

Hi Angelo,

to my knowledge, the only way to do this by a foot pedal is using a MIDI Expression Pedal that sends Control Change #7 (Volume) or #11 (Expression) messages on the correct MIDI channel to the desired Part. (For example, the Part "Style Pad" can be controlled by default via MIDI B IN (= Port 2) on Channel 14.)

Styles and Right hand voices are port B?

Also where would set that port routing?

Hi Norman,

yes, Keyboard Parts and Style Parts can be controlled by default (when using the MIDI template "All Parts" or "KBD & Style") via MIDI Port 2 (= DIN MIDI B IN or USB 2). Please see also the attached pictures.

Best regards,
Chris

Dear Chris,

we should call you "GenosPedia"! I don't know how you can have such a deep knowledge of our beloved toy!!!!

Yamaha should ask you to make a "Deep-Reference" manual  ;D ;D ;D
