Hello everyone,
As there appears to be some interest in twin setups at present I thought a couple of photos of an easy stand might be helpful.
The support arms just slide into the X stand after removing end plugs, and extra cross braces from 10mm aluminium tube help to stiffen it. The arms  are made from 20mm square hardwood glued and bolted together, and will need about a 15mm spacer to get a good fit between the two boards. Note this idea is probably not suitable for stands with square or rectangular section tube as the arms have to twist to horizontal.
The photo shows an S975 with M-Audio Keystation 61, and is suitable for the SX series too. By the way the pair of footswitches  are made from paper staplers!
Happy twinning,
Robert.

Iv'e used a similar arrangement for the past 10 years.
T2 then later T5-76 + NP30 The importance here is keeping the two boards as close together.
My lower acts as dummy to trigger the upper Styles & ACC.
This allows the upper T5 full keys to be availble to split into voice zones.

Thanks for sharing your twin stand construction. Robert!

I am very interested in the construction of your "paper stapler" foot switches. Could you please post a picture of this unit where we can see it more detailed? Which type of switch have you installed here for the electrical contacts?

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Graham and Chris,
Agree with your comment Graham re. getting the boards close together and that was my reason for choosing the Keystation. Downside unfortunately, is the dimension of keys and hence width of an octave which don't coincide, but you get used to it ☺
Chris, will take a close-up of the footswitch and post later today.
Robert.

Hi Chris,
Photo as requested. The stapler is 110mm long. Switch is old style push-to-make, (not a micro switch), Jaycar Australia P/N  SP0710 or 0711 , mini SPST. Spring, anything you have but it IS necessary as the switch spring is not strong enough. Just make sure it sits on the switch and can't fall down across the switch lugs. Lugs bent outward 90° and switch fastened to plate (non conductive) with 10BA screws and nuts. Hack the staplers as needed.
Best wishes,
Robert.

Thank you very much for posting the close-up picture and the other details about your "stapler foot switches", Robert!

By the way: Original Yamaha foot switches (FC5, FC4, FC4A) have a "normally closed" electrical contact (opens when depressed). But "normally open" momentary switches can also be used.

Best regards,
Chris

Probably the best is to take the np32, remove the plastics and just use the keybed.
Unfortunately it has not midi out but a work arround is needed to use the usb.
