Recording a basic song to a higher level

Seems that the PSR SX600 can record the song in Cubase too via usb audio interface ( to investigate? )
Cubase Pro can load the styleformat .sty too

But for now i like to record a song on the keyboard itself.
The lessons songs i used ( with CD on USB , so i can listen on the keyboard )  are elementary.
Nothing wrong with that for a starter to practice basic songs.
I like also to try to enhance those basic songs to a higher level of performance.

There is unison and accent function for lifting up the melody and style, but that are for 80 styles
These 80 Acc&Uni styles good be also enhanced with other tricks too.

So in general making a more attractive song, how to do that ?

The three most important things you can do to improve a recording -
1. Play it better
2. Make a great custom style
3. Make a better arrangement using multi track recording
No matter what fancy software or post processing you do will be minor compared to those.
Are you really anywhere close to having to concern yourself with this? It is starting to feel like you keep asking questions about advanced calculus when you are still not on top of the two times table.

Advanced Calculus is no problem here , because i am B Ed in mathematics
Recording is not now the real issue here, but the practice of playing a richer style in a song is what has my interest.

I do have a lotof  learning songs in the book  and ask myself how can i make this lesson song more interesting that it sounds more professional ?

To enhance the style use the multipads. And use the OTS buttons of the keyboard to get fine preset voices. Also learn to use the fills, intros and endings. The timing is very important here.

All the things Toril said will contribute to an improved sound if well chosen - essentially part of playing it better. And nothing to stop you playing around with different styles to see what works best. About 95% of how 'professional' a song sounds, is how well you play it. No getting round that.

Indeed it is not a easy thing to do playing with the ACMP
People who  are capable to play reasonable well on a piano, for those people is it much easier to start
To learn extra also some piano skills/basics can be beneficial.

I like to stand out more a learning song with enhancing it with a intro/ending and some main variation and a voice variation 
A main variation of a style is soon too much instruments involved : go from main A to main B ?
Perhaps a matter of taste ?

Then save the changes to a registration or rename the style.

Jan - Thats because they are not 'starting'. If they can play piano even at a fairly basic level, they are already a long, long way down the road. Adapting to the arranger and all the features and choices, like the best way to play slash chords, which fingering mode works best, how to enhance a style,  - might be interesting but they will not help in any significant way with the hard bit, which is learning to play.

I am now focussed on doing more practice with the lessons
For that i let now the old 3 cassette tapes lessons converting to wav files for playing it on the SX600
Can listening then to the parts how it must sounding and practice the points of extra attention.

One "trick" I learned early in my Yamaha experience is that when you FINISH a recording, the tempo needs to be "spot on", but there is NO NEED to do any recording at the FINISHED recording tempo!   In other words, take it as slowly as you need to when creating your basic song and even when adding multi-tracks.

Then use tools like MixMaster and PSRUtil to get your notes/chords aligned (quantizing) (or do it on the keyboard) and finally adjust your tempo.....sound like a virtuoso every time!!

There was a cliche saying in the 1990s about "identity on the internet"...it went "nobody knows if you're a dog on the internet".  Same goes for recording MIDI.   Nobody knows the original tempo when you've finished a MIDI recording....or how many mistakes may have been corrected.

It's very hard to correct such things when your original recording is audio!!
