Hi folks,
I have just read that the music finder records also have registrations included
I thought after pressing the button to play one of the music finder records that we just got a style with four variations
If music finder does indeed have registrations should they not light up on the registration bank

Music finder records are not registrations.

They select a style, tempo, one of the 3 intros, one of the 4 variations, and one of the 4 OTS from the style. That's all.

What you read was wrong. Playlists have registrations, not the Music Finder.

Hi Adrian,

I see from your earlier posts that you have a Tyros5. Here you can use .mfd Music Finder files exclusively in Music Finder (MF): If you haven't already done so, first save your current MF status as a .mfd file (so that you can load it again later). Then you can load a new .mfd file (OVERWRITE overwrites the previous MF records (data sets), with APPEND the previous records are retained and the new ones are only added.) Note that a maximum of 2500 MF records are allowed.

Newer models like Genos and PSR-SX no longer have a Music Finder, but instead the PLAYLIST function, which is based on Registrations. To ensure some compatibility, the new models offer the opportunity to import .mfd Music Finder files. A Registration Bank file (.rgt) ) is automatically genereated then for each MF record contained in the .mfd file and additionally a .tsv Playlist file. The latter can then be loaded in the Playlist Selection display and calls up the aforementioned auto-generated Registrations, so you can use it to play the song titles from the original .mfd file in a similar way to older models with the Music Finder.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Thanks for the explanation Chris
I was wondering about this playlist, so I don't have it on the T5
I rarely use music finder, I mostly play from registrations
