You need to use the Yamaha Expansion Manager (YEM) utility program to create a file to install on the Genos. You can find it, and the manual, on the Yamaha website.

Also search this forum for YEM, many people have asked many questions about it.

(Unless you are talking about wavs that you want to trigger on demand from the multipads, which is different and much simpler. They playback a wav clip exactly as recorded).

I think it would be helpful if you explained a little more about what you actually want to achieve. What is the source of the audio (wav) and how do you actually want to use it.

so I have a Style as a wave loop which was given to me I copied into USB and played it in Genos but it does not play as style I am trying to play as a style and not as a wave file. Thanks

Hi,

As far as I understand it, style files are something like a midi file with instructions on how the instruments are told to play.

So a wav file will not perform as a style file, you would have to play that as a sound file then play along with that sound.

There is a tool available (sorry not sure where) which allows to create audio styles from wave files.

These are styles where instead of a MIDI rhythm pattern on parts 9 + 10, it plays a wav file.

But there is no pitch shifting available on playback since it's intended for a non-pitched rhythm sound.

So, I think you are out of luck with what you are trying to do.

That's the one I meant. It will time stretch the wav file, but does not change its pitch. Hence it is only suitable for percussion parts.

You can use your wav file as an audio multipad. But the problem is that you will neither be able to change the tempo of the audio multipad, nor be set to loop (repeat) it.

So the better way would be to create an audio style from the WAV file through the audio phraser software. Link already provided in the discussion. If you don't want to change the tempo or to loop it (just a one time play) then creating an audio multipad is the best way for you. Just a minute's job on your Genos.
