Producer - Version 3.14.1 available

Hello everybody,

there is an updated version (V3.14.1) of Producer available.

As the new version provides some fixes and improvements in stability it is recommended to update to this version.

The main changes are:

    - Added support for PSR-A3000, PSR-SX700 and PSR-SX900.
    - Added more song marker types.
    - Fixed a problem when displaying the music finder data records when there are no records due to the empty default file.
    - Fixed a problem of increasing number of chord marker events at the same place.
    - Fixed a problem with the alignment of the toolbar elements.

The program should run on all Windows versions (32bit and 64bit) beginning with Windows XP.

Hi Peter... Very nice program
from a quick check  I found a display problem on W10 (1920x1080 res.) indicated in the attachment. The first thing I noticed was fantastic, the possibility to find the most suitable style based on the time or in any case to experiment with original solutions, great be able to change the "time" in "real time". I'll try to learn more as soon as I have free time. in the meantime, congratulations.

thank you for the info.
This problem is the one I mentioned in my list of changes with "Fixed a problem with the alignment of the toolbar elements.".
This problem has been reported by only one person. Not exaclty like in your case (only two icons were misaligned). I could not reproduce it on any system I have access to.
I also did not found an error in my coding yet. I made some changes in the code to make it more "secure" and now it works for this user. But I don't know why.
Bad to see that it is not solved in the end.

Currently I have no idea why it does not work on some systems. I will continue my research.
Maybe I can send you some versions for testing, if I have one in the future?

Did you already used an older version on this systen which works correct?

Hi Peter,

the reason could be that there is set a user defined SCALING (e.g. 120%) in the Graphic settings of Windows 10. When set to the default value (100%),  there shouldn't be such graphic problems anymore.

Scaling  is it 100%...
At first glance is it as if the icons are larger and having no space, the bar extends beyond what it should (icons: Exit, + Zoom, -Zoom, Goto, Play end Stop).
I changed the screen shot Producer with Paint. I assume it should look so right ...?

PS Unfortunately these days I have tendonitis or (carpal tunnel) in my left wrist. I should keep my hands at rest. As soon as he gets better I will deepen the use of the program ... See you soon

yes, all icons should be in one line. And they are in one line on all my machines.
I try to find a PC where I can reproduce the problem.

I summarize the specifications of my pc: ASRock Z77 Extreme - Intel Core i7 3770 - Radeon RX 580 Series. 16 Gb Ram DDR3 - Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500 GB. Windows 10 64 Bit Home Edition
I'll try your program on another PC with Windows 7 and I'll let you know ...

Hello Peter,

When I run the program on my Windows 10 Pro PC it seems that some icons are hiding parts of the screen.
Exit, +Zoom, -Zoom, GoTo, Play and Stop button are not placed correctly i suppose.

Hello Etienne and Pietro,

probably I have identified the problem.
It seems that the toolbar buttons are wrapped to the next line because there is not enough space defined for their rectangle in the toolbar.
The space which is needed depends on the size of the buttons. The size of the buttons depend on the size of the longest text used for a button in each group. And the size of this text depends on the font used in Windows. And this font, or size of the font, may be different on various PCs.

This would explain why it runs well on so many machines.

It requires some more tests to verify this and a strategy how to solve this in the code.

Hi Peter,

I have installed "Producer" V3.14.1 on a virtual Windows 7 system: Everything is ok there.

But on two different Windows 10 systems (1920*1080 and 1600*900) this "wrapping" problem occurs.


P.S.
I have had problems with certain programs in the past when the user scaling (as mentioned above) is not set to 100%. In the case of "Producer", however, this setting is obviously not the problem ...

Hi Peter,

I have tried V3.14.2001 on Win7 and on Win10.

The "wrapping" problem on Win10 seems to be solved. But with the new version there are still some little issues:

Both on Win7 and on Win10, to the left of three symbols there is some unintended (?) free space.

I also noticed the following: With the program window maximized, the "Max. Measures", "Instrument", etc. parameters are aligned to the right on Win7 (with both versions) but aligned to the center on Win10. (See also the attached picture.)

Hi Chris,

good to hear that it is working in general. This was my first goal.

The "unintended" space has been added by me for additional security to make it work.
It does not look very good at the moment, but I will do some more finetuning in the future.
Also with the alignment of the top most row. Windows 10 behaves different than Windows 7, and I do not yet know the details how to fix it.
On my Windows 10 laptop the top most row is slightly too much on the right side. Just great.

It is more difficult as it seems, at least since there is Windows 10.

I checked the link again, but it seems to work. Also Chris was successful downloading the file.

Do you get any error message? Or what happens in detail when you click on the link?

It is important that the link starts with http:// and NOT https://.
https:// does not work, but this is an issue of my internet provider.

Clicking on the link in the topic is not working on my PC.
It does not load the zip file.
Copy/paste the link in my default browser (Google chrome) is working.
I downloaded the file and installed the program.
The icons are now all on the same row.

I have the same problem when just clicking on the link, but I can click on it with the right mouse button and then save the zip file.
