Hello PSR Friends

I got a prompt to upgrade my iPad IOS from 13.6.1 to 14.2.    I currently use Songbook+ by BauM current version is 4.0.5. The iPad/SongBook+ is linked to Genos wirelesly to manage my Genos registrations.

Will this IOS 14.2 upgrade affect current SongBook+ on iPad ?   Some time ago I read somewhere here that some SongBook+ users where having problems after updating IOS  . . . .not sure if i understood correctly . . . . .  i was searching but could not locate the posts . . . .

Anyway . . . . anyone had any SongBook+ problems after upgrading IOS to 14.2 ?

thanks in advance.

If your wireless link is Bluetooth, then 14.2 will cause problems for you. It won't hold the connector more than one song.

Wait until 14.3, which is supposed to solve the problem, and will be released on Tuesday.

thanks a lot as always for your prompt response.

Based on your advise I will wait until the next IOS 14.3 . . . . will check next week to see if the new release is out and results.

Have a great day

Al,

I too had problems with WLAN not holding the connection after the 14.2 upgrade, I don't use the MD-BT01 adaptors, I was going over my house WIFI. I have been in contact with Baum for the last two weeks, and they said it should be fixed with 14.3. In the meantime, I bought an Apple camera adapter and have it wired for now. https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W2AM/A/lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter. It works great and allows you to charge it at the same time.

Rick

thanks for your note.

I have the apple camera adapter somewhere . . .  need to find it  . . . .

I currently have the wireless bluetooth connection, i was using the Yamaha MD-BT adaptor but repaced it some time ago and currently use the Quicco mi.1
https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-MIDI-Interface-mi-1-Rev-3/dp/B01D61QK6W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522090876&sr=8-1&keywords=quicco

Not sure if the problem will also affect this adapter but do not want to risk it, so it looks like I will bypass this IOS upgrade and wait for the next one.  It looks like the next iOS will be released as soon as next week.

Thanks a lot.

Al,

He mentioned another kind of adapter, so I am assuming it will work for them all.

Al,

14.2 also screws up Quicco adaptors, so best to wait for 14.3

As a matter of interest, as the issues may be similar, OnSong emailed users 3 days ago to warn against immediately updating to iOS/iPadOS 14.3:

"Apple is soon releasing their iOS/iPadOS 14.3 update. OnSong recommends NOT immediately updating. Apple has made some changes in this update that may affect backing track playback and more. We also recommend always backing up your OnSong library before ever updating"

There is also an article on iOS/iPadOS 14 updating issues/problems at
