I use midi instruments from tyros 5 arranging some personal music

Problem:   everytime i turn off the computer/tyros and go back to load the midi song i just did,  all instruments defaults to piano. What settings am i missing?

  Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Are the tracks playing from the keyboard or Logic?

You're playing the Midi from the Computer to the Tyros 5 ( after you restart your pc )

Or is it from Tyros 5 to logic?

If all tracks (except channel 10) are playing back with an Acoustic Grand Piano sound (and channel 10 is playing back with the Standard Drum Kit), it's most likely because the instrument choices did not get saved to the tracks.

Whenever a MIDI track isn't assigned to play a specific instrument plugin inside the DAW, and doesn't have a specific instrument sound chosen-- as specified by a Bank Select MSB, Bank Select LSB, and Program Change-- it will typically default to the GM1 Acoustic Grand Piano, or to the GM1 Standard Drum Kit if it's outputting on channel 10.

Some keyboards-- such as the PSR-E models-- have a function called "Send Init" that can be used to send the keyboard's setup to the DAW as a series of MIDI messages so the DAW can record that setup to each of its tracks. The steps to do this would be
(1) connect everything and set up the keyboard's voices and effects as desired;
(2) add one or more MIDI tracks in the DAW and assign the keyboard as the MIDI input device;
(3) start recording in the DAW, choosing the option to wait until data is actually received if the DAW has that option;
(4) execute the "Send Init" function on the keyboard; and
(5) stop recording once the "Send Init" function has completed.
This will let the DAW capture the voice selections and other parameter settings for each channel, even if you can't see the messages in the piano roll. If you look at the automation lanes for the various types of MIDI messages then you should be able to see them that way, or if the DAW has a MIDI event listing view then you should be able to see them that way as well.

When you're ready to actually start recording yourself playing, you'll need to make sure you don't record over any of those "initial setup" messages, otherwise you'll defeat the whole purpose of recording them in the first place. When you record a MIDI song file on the keyboard itself, Yamaha always puts the initial setup messages in the first measure, then skips to the second measure before recording any Note events. If your DAW doesn't have the option to wait until it starts receiving data before auto-starting the recording, then the initial setup messages might not be in the first measure, so you might need to check on which measure they end in before you start recording your playing, and then start at the beginning of the following measure.

I ddon't know if the Tyros has a similar "Send Init" function, but I think what a lot of Tyros, Genos, and PSR-S users do is set up their keyboard as desired and start recording the song on the keyboard itself, even if it's just a single note. That will conveniently put all of the initial setup information at the beginning of each channel's data for you. Then you can load the song file into your DAW with all of the initial setup information in place, and start recording, beginning in the second measure so you don't overwrite the initial setup information that's in the first measure.

The other alternative is to manually add the voice selections and other channel parameters on each track and channel within the DAW. That can be tedious, but some people like to do it that way. If you prefer that approach, you'll most likely want to be sure you've added a complete "instrument definition" file or "patch list" for the Tyros5 into your DAW, which lets you more easily choose the voices and effects you want to use by selecting them by their names rather than having to look up their MIDI data values.
