When I connect USB to Host, (PSR975 to my computer) my pc recognizes something has been connected, but there doesn't seem to be any connection to my PSR keyboard.
Any help, please?

You have to install the midi usb driver on your computer
Use your keyboard cd to install it

I downloaded and installed the driver. It shows up in the control panel.
When I connect 'to host to computer' I get three diagrams which look similar to guitar chord charts. When I check in Midi Player, it only shows the windows device.
Apart from that, nothing seems to be happening.
When it does work, do I have two leads from my keyboard - to host and midi in/out?
Thanks for the reply.

Hi davfra,

are you talking of the "Midi Player" program developed by Michael Bedesem?

https://psrtutorial.com/MB/midiplayer.html

Newer MIDI programs usually have in integrated MIDI Mapper, and you can directly select/change the desired MIDI Out device. Some older programs like "Midi Player" do NOT have their own MIDI Mapper, but they always use the MIDI device that is set as "Standard" in Windows.

In newer Windows versions (starting with Windows Vista) you need an external MIDI Mapper to change the Windows Standard MIDI device.

If you have installed the "Midi Player" program, go to its program folder ...

C:\ Program Files (x86)\ MidiPlayer

... and double-click the file "PLWMidiMap.cpl" to start "Putzlowitschs Vista-MIDIMapper". Then select "Digital Workstation 1" in the dropdown box (NOT 2!) and click OK. Now the "Midi Player" should properly control the SONG parts of your PSR-S975.

P.S.
You do NOT have to set anything in the graphical user interface of the Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver. So please do NOT change anything here, just close the window again.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
