Hi all, I created a song on my laptop and transferred it to a memory stick as a MP3.

When I inert the stick in th T5, there's nothing showing. Any ideas?

Thanks, Norm.

Where are you looking for it? It's an audio file, so you need to look for it in the audio player.

It also needs to be a specific format (16-bit, 44.1khz, stereo).

Hi Norm,

the Tyros5 Audio Player accepts the following Audio formats for Playback:

.wav (WAV format: 44.1 kHz sample rate, 16 bit resolution, stereo) (as already mentioned by Fred before)

.mp3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3: 44.1/48.0 kHz sample rate, 64–320 kbps and variable bit rate, mono/stereo)

If you are not sure, check the exact format of the MP3.

By the way: With Tyros5, file names can have a maximum of 41 characters (plus 4 characters for the file extension, e.g. ".mp3"). If this length is exceeded, the file is not displayed on the keyboard.

Between the file name and the extension, additionally 5 characters for an "Icon ID" (e.g. ".S922") can be used. So, the maximum length is 50 characters (file name (41) + Icon Id (5)+ extension (4).

And  to make it complete: FOLDER names can also have a maximum of 50 Characters. :)

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Hey Fred, another D'OH! moment solved!

I never knew the files were hiding in there. Sneaky!

Thanks so much, Norm.

Hi Norm,

I am glad that your problem was solved so quickly (by Fred's help).

"As a precaution", I mentioned the technical background, since I couldn't know that it was not clear to you that an audio file would only be displayed in the Audio Player.

I think, most users know that all the File Selection displays on Yamaha keyboards are FILTERED, depending on the file type. (For example, Registration Bank files are shown in Registration mode only, Style files in Style mode only, MIDI files in Song mode only, and so on ... ;))

Best regards.
Chris
