Is it possible for the Genos Joystick to "Bend up" 2 steps and "Bend down" 12 steps?

Hi Floodie,

to my knowledge, it is NOT possible to make such "unsymmetrical" settings for Pitch Bend.

I searched for the term "pitch" in the Genos Data List, and at every location there is only ONE parameter for the "Pitch Bend range" (possible values are always -12 ... 0 ... +12). The negative and the positive value are therefore always identical, I think.

Best regards,
Chris

Trying to figure out why anyone would need to bend a pitch 12 semitones :-\

The possibility to bend down 12 semitones (= one full octave) could be good to play (the last note of) the famous Synth Solo part in the song "I Want To Break Free" (Queen), for example: ;)

Nothing beats portamento over four octaves  ;D

Hey BenoitM,

You hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what I want it for..

BenoitM

Yep, Me too...
But it is not possible on the Genos ...  :-\

Should be fairly easy to add as a firmware update...
But as it would need a 'Registration Memory' format update, I don't think it will ever come to the Genos ...  :(

If you wish to emulate rock guitar with a tremolo bridge and a whammy bar (like a Floyd Rose) you want to be able to dive-bomb down an octave while keeping the up-bends to a realistic two or three semitones.

There are many synth applications where this would apply as well in many different combinations. All of my Roland gear allows you to set the up and down bend range independently. I hadn't looked into this yet on the Genos and it's sad this isn't supported yet. :(

I got a Jupiter 50 kickin around, maybe I should try it for a controller..

Hi
Why not use portamento? Take a voice like Oxgen set it on mono and adjust the voice set for the slide you want.
