Hi I was wondering has anyone ever used the app ( Microsoft Photo Program in Windows 10) ?  My goals was to take a photo and add music to it and upload it into YouTube. Beings the song was longer then a few seconds I set the second Duration to a higher number. Having done that the song will play but stops playing mid way into the song. I then set the second Duration higher but still would stop playing. Has anyone ever used this and ran into the same problem ? If so is there another open source I can go to that would work better then the  Microsoft Photo Program ?

    Thank You in advance !

Hi Greg

I don't have Winders 10 (still using v7) but for a question like this one, have you checked out YouTube?

I always have be able to find "how to" video there for Winders issues and other such programs. ;)

YouTube  is where I learned how to use the app but it did not work out for me.  I think there  might be a bug in that app I don't know.

Not sure if the links below will open OK, but should allow a download (hopefully). Created with the Win 10 Photo Program (it does suck). With only one image I had to make the image duration the length of the song, which was 3:00 min or 180 secs. I did so by clicking in the duration number and changing it there. The old Win 7 Movie Maker was much more capable and I made a similar slideshow on  my Win 7 PC with multiple images that came out very good and was pretty easy to use. Supposedly Movie Maker can be found and installed on a Win 10 PC, but caution is needed to get it from a safe website source.

I think the music was something you did that I downloaded(?)
With W10 Photo Program...

With Win7 Movie Maker (asst images) image duration was fitted to total video length......

I think the program only offers a free trial . It warns that some sights that offer it can be infected with Male ware and so forth. I don't know what is safe and what is not.  Well at least you do agree that the Microsoft Photo is crap. Spent hours trying to get that program to work. The Duration feature is what Did not function correctly.

Hey Greg, as I seem to have a bit more extra time on my hands as of late (shelter in place  :-\), if you still need an MP4 to upload to Youtube, I could probably put something together for you pretty easily. Upload the content (song and image(s)) to a box.com site or similar and provide me with a link to download (maybe as a zip file to put everything together as a 'package'?). If the slideshow has more than one image I can put smooth transitions or fades between images. The finished show I can put on my Google drive with a link for download.

Hello Greg,

You need the Movie Maker program? You gotta bookmark this site: "Major Geek". These guys all know where all the free and best available programs are on the net.  ;D

https://forums.majorgeeks.com/threads/windows-movie-maker.315869/

I get my programs (PDF reader, video player/recorder etc.) from where the "Major Geek" site recommends. I avoid MicroSoft stuff when possible. :P

You can look down the list from the above list or just go to this one they recommended directly for the Movie Maker program. Both version links are still working.  ;)

Hello Drake , Thanks for sending the link to the Movie Maker , wow it worked !  The only problem I have with the program is it  cuts down on the resolutions on the Photo but I think it's passable.   I fulled around with the settings and the best possible out come on the resolution was   DV-AVI (NTSC ) what ever that means. So I have it up and running you can check it out here .

I discovered that when I play You Tube video on my tablet picture resolutions at fine. When played from my desk top resolutions are not as good . It appears it could be the desk top that is at fault. The computer is up to date so I don't know if some setting with in the computer needs to be fixed other then that the link you sent me ,the program is excellent and easy to use. Thank you for sending that Drake, much appreciated.

Regards,

When uploading to Youtube I've usually used MP4 format at a resolution of 720p (HD if the program your using is capable of doing it). You can go up to 1080p, but the file size gets quite a bit bigger. Also I believe Youtube may add some compression to what gets uploaded which may affect the video quality. Experiment with the resolution and see what may work best. I suspect your tablet screen is much smaller than the desktop monitor, thus the tablet will tend to look clearer as the resolution isn't spread out over a much larger area.
