Hello everyone! Any Mixcraft Pro 9 users here creating, editing styles with it?
Would you mind sharing your workflow, steps on accomplishing this? Particularly,
preparing a midi to be used as a style....

I'm an Acoustica Mixcraft 9 Pro user; Mixcraft is my favorite DAW. However, I haven't used it-- or any other DAW-- for creating or working on styles.

The workflow should be roughly the same regardless of which DAW you're using, although of course the fine details of how to do specific tasks can vary from DAW to DAW. Still, if you can find a guide or tutorial on creating MIDI files for styles using some other DAW then you should be able to adapt it for Mixcraft.

In my opinion, the main thing to be aware of is that Mixcraft-- as well as Ableton Live and PreSonus Studio One, if anyone is interested in using those DAWs-- does not support Sy*** messages, which Yamaha uses for setting the Reverb Type, Chorus Type, DSP Type, and other system-wide parameters, including part-specific parameters that don't correspond to any CC, RPN, or NRPN channel messages.

Thus, you'll be able to select the channel voices and set most of the channel-specific parameters, but you'll need to use some other program to add any desired Sy*** messages to the MIDI file after you've exported it from Mixcraft, Live, or Studio One.

Of course, you'll need to use some other program even if you don't plan to add any Sy*** messages, so you can create a style file from the MIDI file.

Hi
Mixcraft has been problematic for me  and is no good for the Genos, only samples and vst.
Cubase pro 10.5 is 100% for me
Genos, I7 computer 32 gig ram, Focusrite 6i6, Cubase controller, Focal Alpha Monitors, Yamaha DXR8 Speakers
Cubase 10, Sonarworks, Izotope.  Sampletank, Arturia and Korg software.  Now IK Mixbox

Since Mixcraft doesn't allow Sy*** messages-- filters them out when loading a MIDI file-- it really isn't suitable for editing MIDI files that contain Sy*** messages.

Cubase, on the other hand, not only allows Sy*** messages, but has a built-in understanding of Yamaha's Sy*** messages, making it a very good choice for editing MIDI files that contain Sy*** messages in general, and Yamaha Sy*** messages in particular.

I love Mixcraft for other things that don't require Sy***, and I'm hoping Acoustica will eventually add Sy*** capability to Mixcraft, but only time will tell.

And to be fair, there are other very popular and well-respected commercial DAWs that don't allow Sy*** messages, either, such as Ableton Live and PreSonus Studio One.
