Edit SFF2 styles on Cubase 10

Good evening, I import the SFF2 style on cubase to do a kind of "velocity humanizing" process to the drum tracks, but when I saved the style and put it on my PSR S970, I notice that the guitar tracks are corrupted. So can you help me please, how do you edit your styles on cubase?

Hi Rodrigo,

Cubase destroys the "non-MIDI" data in a Style file. You have to use the tool "Style Split & Splice" first to split the Style file to a MIDI file (.mid) and a "non-MIDI" file (.nmi).

http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/sands/index.htm

Then the .mid file can be imported into Cubase to make changes then. After editing, export the MIDI data from Cubase as a MIDI file (.mid) in "SMF0" format (not SMF1 !) and use "Split & Splice" tool again to combine the edited .mid file with the original non-MIDI data (.nmi file).

Finally, you will have a WORKING Style file again. :)

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Which parametre are lost from cubase midi edit?
For example I want to set only 1 volume and only 1 rev level for a bass track (in cubase) It must set on bar 1 or must copy to every main and fill start bar?
Because after export cubase midi file and mix with "non midi" part  some are lost   I don't see in genos the volume of part stored in cubase

So this data are stored in non midi file split too or what?

The non-midi data is called CASM. Read up on it. Asking more questions won't change the fact you'll have to split and splice if you want to use Cubase on style files.

Rodrigo,
FYI I wrote a post on Feb11, 2020 about "Genos styles Quality : some thoughts".
There is an item about humanization of the velocity in general. You can comment it in order to support the idea and maybe someday, we will get an option in the Genos to humanize the styles  :)

Hi Luluc,
Do you mean you want to humanize the velocity of a style, eg change the velocity of the actual notes.
Or
Humanize the timing eg, change the timing of the notes so that they are off-set from the main beat of the bar, Sometimes called 'jazz feel' on some midi sequencers,

Personally I don't think that there will ever be an option to humanize a style in Genos or any other Yamaha arranger keyboard in the near future.

This can be done very quickly in StyleMagic without any corruption to any tracks.
