I uploaded some ( extension = *.fps ) styles - see above download link -  I cannot use in Padmaker.exe. :-X

I would be very grateful if somebody could help me out.

Thank you very much, Babette

Hello,

Apparently the available version for download (306) does not recognize the .fps extension.
Only extensions .sty .pcs .bcs .sst .prs and .pst will be loadable in this version.
SOLUTION : Simply change the extension .fps into .sty

In the next release the .fps extension will be added.

Hi Etienne :

Changing the extension into *.sty does NOT help, sorry.

Try and you will find out, plse. Thanks !

Are you sure these are Yamaha styles. I have not heard of that extension before.

Hi

Yamaha style file extensions:
sty, pst, pcs, sst, prs, bcs, fps, scp, aus

fps are Frre Play Styles. This might be the problem...

In the header i find yamaha
I think they are  Tyros and Genos  styles

It is also possible  that they are internal styles of a software arranger
The format is midi file (mthd)
Change the extencie in mid Then you can play them as midi files

My experience with PadMaker is... that not ALL style parts can be converted Multi Pads. I'm not sure why that is, but its been my experience.

A work-around might be to use Clipper View in MixMaster and save the style Part as a MIDI file. Then used PadMaker-Midi to create the Pad.

Hi Joe :

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. :)

In the meantime I found another solution.

First of all I brought the style to Joergen's SFF2 Converter, then I went to Casmedit and created a *.sty and made a midifile in XGWorks ( CM7 ).
That worked fine.

Now I can make a choir mp ( PadMaker-Midi ), I hope. Cross my fingers.

No problem ... just made the Multipad !  :)

Bye for now, Babette

Hi Babette,
if you use style creator and just re-save a style that is not with the usual extension .sty it will now be with the .sty extension as a user style.
Maybe this will work next time or for another task.
E.g a pc midi player cannot recognize all Yamaha's style extensions.

Right, Panos, but this issue will not be solved by simply changing the extension into *.sty, IMHO and my experience.

There is much more work involved, I found out today.
See my previous messages above.
But ... I am happy it works now ...😸

Best wishes,
Babette

Hello,

After checking the programming code of PadMaker-Style, I think I can determine the following : only styles in CMAJ7 and CMaj can be used in PadMaker-Style.

@beykock
The link to the styles download is no more available, so I cannot check the styles again.
But please veify if my conclusion is correct.
