Now that many people have used the sx700,sx900,genos for a while
maybe someone can answer my questions on my concerns if it is possible..?
So let's Rehash the discussionon the SX700 Sx900, Genos PLAYLIST Feature abilities and limits.

1- Let's say I have 8 songs in a folder let's call it for eg:POP1
I use one registration for Each Song setup in Pop1.
Can you put all the songs in all the folders in the Playlist
so they will show up SINGULARLY to scroll thru and search on the display?

Up till now on all my Yamaha Psr & S units I would just push both
REG buttons, folders will show,
click edit songs will shown in folder choose one and play.

What advantages if any IF POSSIBLE will the
Playlist feature give me over the way I look for songs now in a live situation on previous Psr/S units?

Patrick

Hi DNJ, the answear is yes; you can put all your registrations in your special folder for your party! you can cherch for the song or just schroll up or down, easy; you can also check inside the registration for informations; just put the name of your registration, i've several playlist so it's a great tool on SX and Genos, all the best Patrick.

Patrick....I am a bit confused with this please excuse my ignorance...

if I have 10 song folders with 8 songs in each for a total of 80 songs.....
do I have to put the named folders in the play list then open each folder to see what is in there?
or can I put all of the songs out of the playlist separately in one big play list of 80 songs to scroll thru?

What am I missing or not understanding about the workings of this playlist feature?

please explain step by step

thanx

Patrick

Hi Dnj, you can make as you want, a very big playlist with all your songs or 10 playlists, named samba, pop, disco, country, .... all the best Patrick

I mean the playlist is useful only in some cases. mostly if it cointained few data. If you will reach a register what you don't use all days the best method is using the register search function by name and not get it from one playlist. The search function didn't care where  this register is, in which map in USB device or in the user memory he will immediately find it.

Hi Dnj, tmho. a more informative vid. is on Sound.w.land (Heidrun Dolde's Site).
From 24.45 min. you can see/hear the English part.

If you are interested, pls. go to the next URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03f_StCMZ8E

In fact it is a personal choice how you organize your styles/songs etc. Playlist, in combination with the Search-function is a 'strong' feature to find  your bulk of data on your HD/USB...
My best regards,

Are you confusing FOLDERS with BANKS.  I think you meant you have 10 BANKS of 8 REGISTRATIONS each.  You want to readily see the song names in each BANK.

DNJ, what part is not clear to you,

A   Making a NEW 'playlist' folder,
have you already made a new folder?

B   Saving Registrations to the "playlist' folder,-
did you manage to save some "song reg" to the folder?

C   Editing the songs in the playlist folder.

I have some 'Photo guides' that i use with my students,
May be of help to you,

Pino.
