I was wondering if there is a way to disable the demo button on the Tyros 5. I have accidentally started the demo by placing a book on it.  ::)
Thanks

Hi Carol,

the demo button of the Tyros5 can NOT be disabled via software.

A relatively easy way to prevent the button from accidentally pressing is to stick on a self adhesive pad of felt or cell rubber ("anti-slip pad"), where you previously cut out the outline of the demo button with a sharp knife.

Best regards,
Chris

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

While playing tyros4 i solved it with one LEGO element.  ;D

what brilliant ideas, both of them - I too accidentally start the demo, most annoying!

Those are both great ideas! Thank you for your suggestions, that will help me to solve my problem.
Thank you for your help

I never understood why a TotL keyboard, costing thousands of euros, had to have a hardware "Demo" button, only to be pushed by accident... It would be better to be tucked away somewhere in a menu.

It looks like Yamaha heard your request . . . Genos buried the demo button under the menu . . .

It was probably thought useful for sales reasons to have it on the panel. People browsing the store could easily start the demo without knowing their way around menus.

Older models had just one demo sing, and a dedicated button. I often listened to the demo song of my old PSR-47. I even believe some people collect those demo songs. But the only way to get it was to make a recording :)
